Price of Plastic going up Up UP

Ed, Shop around on your Plastic purchases. I get 2mil 10/X100' 15.00
I buy a minimum of 100 rls at a time. We reuse plastic if it is just draped to protect the line. But stuff that gets greasy gets tossed.
Fuel cost has doubled in the last year. But at the bottom line, a 5% increase across the board is sufficient for now. Like any other business, we need to work smarter not harder. Effeciency is the key. Current accounts get only a 5% increase. New accounts get 10% or more.

We are still making money, and the Economy isnt in the hole like the media wants us to believe it is. I have plenty of business and have people calling me everyday.

I dont think I could do a 5% increase .. I have been doing some customers for 6 years now and still no increase.. I usually lose a little on the out of town accounts but the in town accounts I make a good bit.. Remember I live in a town where hood cleaning requires no certification therefore anybody with a pressure washer can attempt to be a hood cleaner.. We still have the nuts running around claiming to clean venthoods for $99.00... I saw a hood that was cleaned by one of these guys the other day.. I did the account for 275.00 and it took almost 6 hours to clean a 12 foot hood ... I dont think the 99.00 crew even knew there was a fan and ducting on the roof..

If it makes you feel any better John, I deal with the same crap up here. The only difference is that the worst hacks up here are easily distinguished by the big yellow vans that they drive.

I should thank them though, for the customers they have "burned", that I ended up with.:) Thanks guys!:)

I use 1 mil and I have not had any issues - big cost savings. Give it a try, the one mil is very strong and will hold up.

I use 1 mil and not had any issues. Big savings - give it a try - we prefer it. The 1 mil is stronger than you think - just make sure your hang is good and well placed. Try it!

Hey Bunn? curious about something... i saw your list with prices...and i saw your video. I use the ole lovely sodium hydroxide for chem...i use a hudson sprayer, a 4000psi cold water, and a hotbox. but it seems like the grease just drips off with the foamer, is there a diff chem you use????

Sodium Hydroxide is what makes the grease do that in the videos. You mix it with a foaming agent like AFFF (fire fighting foam) and run it through a foamer and since it comes out in a lighter state than straight chemical, it holds on to the grease longer so it can work in to it better.

Thx MBryan for the info...not too familar with the foaming agent, always use sodium or postassium hydroxide. I googled the AFFF and saw there are a couple of them, can you let me know if there is a particular kind that i should use and if you know of any places where its not too spendy...would appriceate it thx bud.

My competitors don't use foam, and look at what they leave behind.

You can hardly tell the difference after I cleaned.

BTW, I went in a few weeks after my competitors. This is what it looked like six months after I cleaned it.
