price list

I have a chance to get in with a big company to do all of there cleaning needs.
They want me to give them my price list on all the cleaning that I can do.
I was going to use the Contractor Pricing Survey that is in the November issue of Cleaner Times, to give them an idea on how much can be done with a P/W.

The only thing is, I dont have all the prices for everything. I need to know what do you think the avarge prices is on:
Flatwork per sq. ft.
New conctruction...sq. ft.
Fleet washing... trucks,no rigs
Buildings...
I usually price, per hour but I think the company wants to know how much I can get done in a hour per sq. ft.

help!!

Thank you!

The flat work and fleets I think you should be ok giving a specific price, but the buildings and new const. could be tricky to not get jammed up. What does the new const. cleaning entail? What buildings? will you need a lift, sometimes, ever, never? I would have them give you a list of what they want done specifically and then you can give them specific prices. You wouldn't want to price buildings site un seen at say 10 cents per sqft then they tell you they have some monster for you to clean and then you would need lifts and specific equipment that would raise the price and they say you told us X, and now you won't do it for that. Just don't get yourself jammed up. Just my $.02

Keep in mind that price guide on Delco is old and a general pricing guide from people all over the USA.

Some areas get more, some less and some lots less.

Again it depends on what it is your doing plus other things like just what the customer needs are and the time it takes to do the job, how often it is to be done and much more.

ohhhh the taboo

seem's price is the best way to get everyone to clam up.
Competeters everywhere you know.
It is impossable for anyone but yourself to set a price.
People can tell you what they charge but that wont really help you.
Equipment,exspenses,overhead,soil type,chem cost's,buissness cost's,interest,payment's,advertising,phone,accountant,GPM,YADDA YADDA YADDA.........
That is why ONLY delco has a price sheet.
5 other BBS and still only DELCO has one.
Trucks-do you have a crew, one man,do you brush everything,do you two step,is it night or weekend work, are they washed once a week or once a month,do you need to move them,do you need to de-grease them,do you re-capture the water, how meney pieces are we talking about?
Flatwork-how meney times per year, how much gum,is it all night work, what size surface cleaner do you have,is there water on site,do you need re-capture,do you need any chem?
New construction-same bunch of questions
Buildings-do you need a lift,soil types,windows,is it high traffic,will you need 1 helper or 2,types of restoration chems,type of surface[stucco,dryvit,brick,ect...]
So you can see that each part need's to be looked at by you.
Workmans comp, wages, insurance[truck, health, buissness] all need to be factored in.
It's not that people dont want to help you on this, it's that no one CAN help you on this.
Directing you to Delco's site is kind of a cop out, but what else can anyone do?
RULE OF THUMB-$1 PER MIN PER MAN PLUS COST OF CHEM.
Well that's my rule anyway.
The only way anyone could help you without a ton of information would tell you to bid it at TIME and MATERIAL'S.
It is the safest way to bid, for you and the customer.
Good luck.

That is not true about not helping others and you know I have helped many, not all of it shows up here.

Mark W. This information has been posted before and a lot of us use this method to get a hands on idea of how much to charge.

Take total sq. ft. to be cleaned (flat work)

using the table below figure basic price.

.12 x sq. ft. = amount plus ad-ons.
.11
.10
.09
.08
.07
.06
.05
.04
.03
.02
.01

Extra for reclaiming, extra for extremely soiled, greasy areas, extra if you want me to do the job for you too!

Now you can start with a higher number and go as low as you want but a warning, if you charge a penny a sq ft your going broke in my mind.

For fleets, houses etc. I would not be able to offer help as it is not my line of expertise.

A open ended question as you have presented, should be looked at as if that person was fishing for a price for some other reason. They could for example-looking into a in house setup projection. If I were you I would examine what level of service they have had in the past and look at those locations and ask questions to the employees at the location.

I wouldnt give them a list.I would tell i charge by the job depending on location, situation, dificulty etc.You might need a list like that for yourself to base your bids on ,but otherwise they could use you too cheap, basicly screw you over
Good luck
