It's not hard, but you have your azz on your shoulders because experienced contractors tried to help you.Spend all the money you like on equipment without the money to market the serviice you will be sitting at home wondering why the phone isn't ringing.
If you know it all why grace the bbs with your presence? Those of us who have survives the first 3-5 years in this industry have been through the ups and down of buying to much and not needing it.
Again do as you please it's your money, but lose your attitude when speaking to guys who are trying to help you.

My Buddy has been runninng a Yanmar diesel for the last 14 years they do last but with the up keep and maintance he has spent he could have bought several gas motors. Its a 26 hp as well he paid around 2600 back then you can get them all day long today for around 3400.They product alot more torque at lower rpms.Coupled to a pump an then unloader.,to a hot box mmm theres 7000 grand at max.

He aint mess-in around, Welcome to the BBS. That rig will make some Jealous.

until it's in the bargain basement for a third of that cost.

Harsh reality, seen it a million times Ron, you have as well.

It may make some folks jealous for a minute. but that's about all.

Someone tell this man to save his money, get a smaller rig with alot of Inurance.

Take a few classes from the vets who are out from " behind the wand" isn't that the trend this decade?

Get an adequate rig and save your self the headache of the larger one.

I have a diesel and love it I will be changing all of my machines to diesel. All of my equipment is truck mounted and always will be. I can have one tank feed machine and burner. One 50gal diesel tank will run 2 burners and 2 pumps for 12 hrs and still leave some for the next day. We use off road diesel which is cheaper. Oh and when everyone starts having problems with there gas machines due to the new e-b 20 in fuel remember this post.

T.J I do have to agree with some here that is a big rig for a newbie and it is way over priced. I would not take delivery.

Look at the thread wher the guy is building his own rig. This will probably out-perform the rig you are buying for 1/2 to 1/3 the cost, the rest is a lot of marketing hype, bells and whistles you don't need and over priced stuff that is not going to make you money.

I agree, lose the attitude as there are guys with decades of experience here trying to give you some advice and you are treating them like dirt and like they don't know anything.

You have been told to post your signature, do it as it is a requirement here or you might lose your posting ability, if you are not sure ask for help.

I also agree that it is not only stupid but why on earth would you buy a rig that expensive without even knowing if you like the work, know if there is work in your area, know if you can sell the jobs, know if you can handle the work and know if the equipment really will do everything you want it to without knowing what you want to do?

Tell us who sold you the system, I want to offer them a job as they can obviously sell anything to anyone, especially blow smoke up asses and make people believe that with this rig that is 2x or 3x overpriced they will be able to go out there and clean anything that comes their way and be able to pay for the rig in no time. I want to hire that snake oil salesman!!!

Damn and I thought hydroteks were expensive. I need to go into putting equipment on trailers seems to be pretty lucrative.

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding
That's what perpetuates the industry.
Make the contractors your customers.
Offer something for the industry and sell it or sell the service.

Hey man, grocery money is grocery money.
This is pressure washing.
um Excuse me please........ I mean....
"Exterior Surface Enhancement"

" If it is to be, it is up to me "

TJ,
You need to go up to settings and click on it. Go to the left side of the screen, and you will see a list of items. One of those says "Edit Signature" House rules are that you need to have your name, if it is not your screen name, your company name and phone number.

As for the rig you are buying, I have been in business for 20+ years. I don't think that I have ever had a need for a rig of that size, though, it is impressive. My biggest rig is two 6@3000 PSI machines that I hook together when cleaning parking garages. I also have a steel eagle vacuum that has been significantly modified with sirocco parts, and a filtration unit, on a 16 foot trailer. There is not a lot of spare room, and it is preparing to get more cramped... The only thing I can think of that your rig would be useful for is to wash aircraft carriers, or something similarly huge.
But then, some people do not understand my business model, and think I am crazy. It works for me, and I hope that this rig and business works out for you.
However, I do think that you are not getting nearly enough equipment for what you are paying. In my opinion, you are paying WAY too much. On my big rig, I could probably duplicate it for about $25,000 without too much effort.

T.J. Don't take offense Buddy. You've come to a site where the Pro's dwell. Probably 100 years of total experience in this thread alone. Gots To Have Thick Skin! Not much tact here so don't look for any. Just the cold hard facts from guys that have seen it all and done it all.

Now just a few observations from me. First, you've got to look at this from a business point of view. You've never washed or know anything about the biz. You have not nailed down your target market or researched what the potential profit margin might be in the markets you're looking at. How much money are you budgeting for Marketing, Insurance, etc.? Fall is almost upon us, depending on where you're based (Please God don't say Fla.) your season could be done.

Be smart about how you go about this. You are shooting yourself in the foot by "Jumping The Gun". Base your equipment size on your specific target market, do your research first.

Two things to remember about pressure washing....#1..Easiest Business To Get Into, And Fastest To Get Out Of......#2...The Equipment You Purchase Will Be Worth 1/2 Of What You Paid For It When You Drive Off The Lot. I know this because that's where I get my equipment from....Guys That Jump The Gun.

Good Luck!!!

Come on Guy, you are just foaming at the mouth knowing he will be selling that rig within a year for about 1/2 or 1/3 the price. hahahahaha

you know my rig is so big I cant get into most residential areas. (my wife says my rigs so big cause im making up for what im lacking down....) Thats okay. I dont do residential. If I did, I'd have a small trailer. Its going to be a PITA to get that thing into residential areas. I do fleets, I have a straight truck. Its what I need to take care of my accounts. I dont have quiet 37k in it. Its probaly close. I do have 2 hot water machines, fresh water tank, containment tanks, etc. Just about everyone has there niche also. You need to start small, do everything you can do the first year, and find out what you like. A residential rig is built diffrent than a rig made for doing parking garages. For fleets you need something alot diffrent, we run high volume guns with low pressure. 2 guys at 4GPM washing trucks is going to be a waste. It sounds like that package is made for doing more commercial, but youll quickly find out, in KY, there is going to be enough commercial crap to justify a 40k rig. What if you decide you dont want to wash? You want to expand? You going to give a guy the keys to your truck with a 40k rig behind it? You could have bought 2 for that price, and had 2 crews, making double the money.

Kory what size engines are you going to and how do you have them couple the pump?Thats a great benifit to the fuel is just having to run one kind for all.Are yours air cooled ordo they come with radiators?

ok first things first i dont know where everybody is getting that i have an attitude or being disrepectful? i have read everyones comments and it seems that i am being disrepectful. if i have come across like that i do APOLOGIES in no way shape or form am i triing to be disreepectful...... as far as the signiture i have put my name there. i do not have all the other stuff that you guys have company name, website ect ecti

as far as the rig goes it was about 27,800 but i have added different things and upgraded the engines to diesels that was a big extra i also upped the generator to 6500 watts instead of the average 4500 to 5500 watts just to get the diesel engine. i know this is expensive rig and may be bigger than i will ever use but there is always the case of what if i just had that one piece of equipment i could have done that job.

Too close to the end of the season for all that gear to be sitting costing you money when you have no work.
If you have that kind of money to spend, then......
Split the difference and get a good rig and a snow plow truck for the winter season and start selling jobs.

Buy the extras later when you land the work to support the need for the gear.

just my take on it.

TJ, tell me I am wrong, but your an overseas contractor and you are getting a good chuck of change from your stint. You are basically banking your money cause you dont have any expenses over there, and your buying the top of the line highest priced equipment cause basically, you can....am I wrong?

Because you have plenty of money (for now) take about the same amount of money (30k should work) and put it in both advertising, a killer website, and pay someone here to let you learn the business and work for them for about 3 weeks. Most of the best guys that you can actually learn how to run a business will charge you about $1000-3000 a week for you to work with them and learn from them.

Since you have plenty of money now, learn how to put your money to best use to grow your business.....

Leave the guy alone, that will make a great fleet rig in the future when he 's selling it. Let's see 30k and can be purchased for 10 in a year or so,another 1500 to change pumps and it's a great road rig for fleets. Lol
