2 men electrocuted while power washing

This tragedy occured today, 10/02/02
"Federal investigators are in Meriden trying to figure out how two workers were electrocuted.
The two New Haven men died Wednesday outside the city health department building on Miller Street.
47-year-old Eugeno Torres and 50-year-old Hector Leon had been power washing bricks. A passerby found them dead inside their utility bucket. The bucket was not touching any wires.
Investigators don't know how the men were electrocuted. Concerned neighbors wonder if the men had been properly trained.
J anet Lorenzo\Meriden: "I f they were educated enough they would have known the dangers."
M igdalia Garcia\Meriden: "I t really hurts. They were working and doing their jobs and they died like this."
The state medical examiner will perform autopsies on the two men later today. "
** My own note: I will post results of autopsy report when the results are in. Can never be too safe, can we?
