Pressure washer problems

My PW is acting up on me. Runs great but when you pull the trigger, you get a burst of high pressure followed by a pulse or a lope if you will from the end of the wand. At first I thought it was a low input but it's not. Im going to undo the hoses off the unloader to check the pump in just a minute. Any ideas as to what it could be?? Thanks for the help.

Could be crud in one of your valves. What model pump and how old?
 
I do not know the model of the pump. When I bought this rig I was told that it was a 3500 PSI 5.5 GPM. I went to look at the pump and the tag is almost all missing. The only part left has "G" on it. This rig is a Alkota 5355J( if thats any help). Is there any other way to tell what pump it has?
It is about 2 years old.

The valves are under those big brass bolts. There are three on the top, and three on the side. Take those bolts that are really caps off, and you will see a little plastic housing. You will need to get them out, carefully. When you pull them out, you should have a complete valve in hand. you can suck on the silver end of the valve, and see if there is air leakage. You can also usually just look to see if there is a pebble caught in it. Take out the pebble, and put it back in. Make sure it is properly seated in the oring. You can go ahead and check the others, too. Usually, it is only one valve, and most frequently, is one of the lower valves.

checked the valves out and found that on one of them the spring is sprung. (you shake it and it rattles.) and one more is on its way out. How common of a problem is this. Would it be best to replace all 6 of them or just the ones that need it. I will get pics of them next. Russ, might you have some of them? Please?!! I need to get it back up and going again.
 
They come in sets of six. That pump has made a lot of money. Make sure that you swap out the Orings, too. They come in the set. Congratulations on finding the first part of the problem.
