Taking up duck hunting again after a 10+ year hiatus. Was going to buy a mud-motor, but did some research and found the Thai Mud Motors, which use your existing Honda GX390. Had a couple of those laying around the shop so I put them to good use! Only took a few hours, and it was a huge $$$ dollar savings for a 13HP mud-motor.
Cost of the kit was about $500.

I have seen these around here where I live, We also have boats that have the props off and use jet packs turning them into a jet engine. The setup that you have seems to be very nice and you will not have to worry about the engine filter getting clogged. One question, are you able to go in reverse?

Nope, no reverse and very wide turning radius.

Thats what I was thinking! Who knows you might be able to make some gear box to make it work.
