Pressure Guage

I do not currently have a permanent mounted gauge. But thought it would be nice to add. Im curious to know how others have mounted them. Came across this video of gauge mounted on the actual pump. Have not seen that before.

On one machine I have it like on that video, on another I have it right before the unloader, between the pump and unloader so you see the pressure spikes before bypass, on the other 2 machines it is in a similar area, just not exact and on the last hot water rig, I have not installed one yet.

I like to have a pressure gauge so I can see the pressure all the time because I lower the pressure with the unloader for fleet washing on 2 of the machines but I put it back for washing concrete, I have specialized nozzles for fleet washing so I prefer to change the pressure at the unloader. I used to just use nozzles to change the pressure.

I just received 2 new (liquid filled) pressure gauges. A sticker on the side says to "cut or punch" the rubber seal after installation. I plan on hard mounting one gauge and using the other for testing (connected directly to a QC). My question is, why does the seal need to be cut or punctured? Won't the liquid work its way out?

Yes the liquid will work it's way out if you have the gauge in a way for it to leak out, keep it vertical. Why, it is an oil inside, and is needed for the gauge to work correctly. Why cut the little rubber seal, so pressure build up in the gauge won't rupture the gauge.
