how does everyone do their maintenance? do it yourselfers or take it in to the shop for oilchanges and rebuilds.

If you are going to be in this business you need to know how to work on everything you have. First step would be buying a pump that doesn't have to be rebuilt. Saves time and money in the long run.

William, yeah I'm pretty sure he swears by Generals a

Generals are garbage. I have 7 Udors. Some are 6 years old. None have ever been opened. Udor ran their GKC series pump for 8 hours without water during testing and lost 20% effeciency. Run a general or AR like that and see what happens. I was rebuilding generals every six months when I started like everyone else until I found Udor.

Udors are great pumps much more beefy than any of the others.

Generals are fine. Proper Maintenance is the key.

I do everything myself with the exception of some internal engine stuff.

I maintain it my self, unless I can make more then I save by having someone else do it. There are rare exceptions, but that is the majority.

i run hotsy 5 gpm at 3k. had it for about 4 years and it needed rebuilding. was losing pressure, 3 seal kits a tune up and labor cost me 200

i am glad i let them do the seals because i had never done it before and i learned alot by watching the guy. i could prolly do it myself next time.
