Pressure and Nozzle Size

Is there a rule of thumb as to pressure and nozzle size. For example, does doubling the oraface size cut the pressure by 50%?

No. It has to do with volume. The way they have it set up is based on 4000 psi. So if you have a 4 gallon per minute machine, rated at 4000 psi,you would use a #4 nozzle, since you can't double it, cut it in half and you need a #6 nozzle for 2000 psi. If you have a 5.5 gpm machine and need 1500 psi you use a #9 nozzle. If you need 3000 psi you need a #6.5 nozzle. So I don't see any rule of thumb out of that. They are all over the place based on what volume your pump is putting out.

Thanks Ralph. Wondering if there's chart published for this ?
