Wow, I'm so sorry to hear this! I wish you all the best Jonathan!
The accident part is terrible so besides that if he was asleep when the point of impact happened it may have saved his life. The point being if he had a blow out and the impact was the same it probably would have killed him because he would have tensed up. There is no upside to this story except to say the results are much different for a person sleeping behind the wheel compared to a person who was awake and had the same type of accident.I'm not a accident investigator and with all do respect to Jonathan and his family it sounds to me that he may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
I don't have the exact stats I know they are online..the time of the accident was at 4:30 AM if I read correctly. Between 4 AM and 6 AM I believe is when most accidents occur with people going to sleep behind the wheel.
The reason I say this is that I had rolled a pick up about 13 years ago at 4:30 AM on a freeway because I went to sleep at the wheel.
I'm not assuming anything about Jonathan's accident I've just pointing out a possible scenerio.
Get well soon Jonathan we are all pulling for you here.
Gave me goosebumps, glad to hear some good news! From his facebook:
Jonathan is being blessed with great healing. He is slowly building back strength. He has come almost completely off pain medicine and is building back independence each day. He still can not open the right eye but the swelling is slowly coming down. Still not able to eat much but more than he could a week ago.
