Poll, of sorts

That grease doesn't maybe have roaches, or smell, and you are using a wand. Our first tool of choice is a scraper, the chems, then a wand. Some times just a hose will do to.

That is a very good point, I did not know that those vents had roaches in them, I guess they love fried foods too? hahahahaha Everyone and everything loves fries. hahahahaha

I have seen a lot of videos over the years of the vent guys cleaning, some very dirty jobs there, you guys really earn your money.

all in fun man!:):)
For those of you that have done Heavy equipment you know this stuff doesn't just come off with a shower! It takes serious scrubbing and TIME! Atleast it doesn't stink though like hood grease!!

Been there, done that many, many times, especially before the throw-away coveralls.

I would take the greasy clothes to the laundromat, spend 3 hours there, use up all kinds of soap and spray and wash and about $20.00 to wash clothes. Now I just use the throw away coveralls or the pants and shirts, less time and money wasted.

Before I knew what I was doing I would have a face full of grease, got it in the hair and just about everywhere else on me when degreasing heavy equipment.

Now I am better at it but it still slings all over but I don't get as covered with grease as I used to.

One thing about it. No matter who you say wins, you haven't seen one flat worker or roof cleaner say a thing !!! :)

I do flatwork and roofs also but That is a good point. hahahahaha

I'm pretty sure cleaning human feces, blood and ankle deeep grease from dumpster areas,as well as,walking behind a surface cleaning and popping 10million pieces of gum is down right nasty and physical.
It wasn't that long ago we shoveled 8" of grease from a restaurant dumpster pad before we could wash and the owner couldn't get over the health dept. shutting him down for it.

I have not done the blood thing yet but have done the feces, pieces, greasies, and the shoveling thing too, not fun, hate the "aroma" of the rancid grease rotting out in the hot sun along with the other "aroma"'s of the trash there too. Not exactly the job you want to do before church Sunday morning.

This is the 13th night I've been working 10pm to 6am flat work. During the day I fix one of the PW trucks then I drive 35 miles to fix one of the sweeper trucks and then I deal with administrative stuff till late afternoon :).. I am at the edge of going into complete insomnia...

That is the norm for a concrete guy, too. At least one that does commercial and industrial stuff. Starting Sunday, unless I force myself to take off, I am booked clear through the first of the year, including the holidays, with 12 hour days. I am hoping that I can take at least a day off a week. If not, well, the payday will be good. Of course, I have washed fleets on Christmas before, let alone the other stuff. Did them by myself, since I did not want to have my guys working on Christmas.

Doesn't having a conscience suck some times?

Confined Space Entry

In a tank or in a duct confined space entry has to be up there with the worst. Truck Washing is just bad altogether because you have so many low ballers.
