Poem

Last Monday I built a fire in the house stove. Saturday there was fresh snow down to about 6,000 feet in the mountains. Winter is comming. In an effort to bring some class to this board, I would like every one to memorize this poem. It is entitled "WINTER" by Abigail Elizabeth McIntyre

"s**t - It's Cold"

You may now return to your drab, every day activities

Okay, I think I've got it....But what does it mean?
Tonight dipped down to 58 degrees and it is supposed to be 82 today.

Yeah winter is on it's way...Time to wax the longboard and switch over to long shorts....now we can switch back over to SPF 45 sunblock!!!

Few more weeks snow birds should start trickling in....a lil more than a month we'll See Winnebago's w/left signal on (in the left lane) on every freeway. and the driver will have map out,and of course he's lost. why do they all have Minnesota plates?

and just after Halloween the suicide lane becomes adventurous. i watch for rental cars....not hard to find ......good percentage are smashed up in the suicide lane. So when i see a fleet plate i detour .........cause he's going to crash...(in the suicide lane). Must be the ....it destroys common since

Cold is a relative term. A former brother-in-law moved to Phoenix and complained about the cold @ 65 ° F. The coldest I have been was in the High Desert on a backbacking trip. The previous days were 95 - 100 °, one morning the temp was 50 ° and we froze. The best skiing is at 15° in the sun. We often work w/temps down to 25 °. The coldest was 4 ° above. The wind, the humidity, lack of sunlight all make a difference. Normally we just put on a long sleeved shirt when we go on the roof.

Same here, I've tried the heavy coat but it really restricts movement and is a bit less safe for climbing ladders. Two to three layers of shirt and thermal underwear under pants is good enough. You really learn how to work fast and effective in the late winter months.

Well I grew up in Ant's service area..I just do not do cold weather anymore..I think I'm alergic to anything below 60 Degrees..LOL

Doug I understand the temp drop thing..When I was in Kuwait..it's be 115 inthe day and it'd drop down into the 50's in the early morning we wold freeze our cajones!!

I was in Germany 2 years and that is when I became alergic to the cold...It sucks to be so cold there is nothing to get you warm..the cold made me cry in Germany,,it was down to the bone....Good thing they had plenty of warm beer there!!!!
