DALY CITY (BCN)
Oil in a deep fryer in a Daly City restaurant kitchen sparked an early morning fire that was mostly extinguished by a sprinkler system by the time firefighters arrived, according to the North County Fire Authority.
Firefighters arriving at the Pho Hoa Hiep restaurant on Southgate Avenue heard the restaurant's fire alarm as they arrived around 6:15 a.m. and worked to put out what was left of the fire and to ventilate smoke from the building, the fire authority reported.
The San Mateo County Health Department will be conducting an inspection to determine what clean-up needs to be done before the restaurant can re-open, according to spokeswoman Beverly Thames.
