I was thinking of bringing in a rig for them to buy, it is a small unit that is at an industrial site in they lease is up and I either have to buy it back, and haul it here or sell to them.....

No doubt, I watch it on you tube all the time, I watch the reapeats.....just about anything I can get with them.

One the History Chanel site, the have tons of clips that never got onto TV.

HULU.com has all types of goodies as well.

I too am hooked on it. I've bought a lot of tools at pawn shops. I like the family shops as opposed to the big chain stores.

Yea.....buy lots of stuff at pawn shops, and sometimes it is mine, occasionally my old workers would sell off some of my stuff to feed their addictions. I almost always just bought it and not call police, cause it really doesn't help the addict to get him in jail and the pawn guy is out that money.

I'll watch Pawn-Stars every once in awhile. I like watching Ice Road Truckers the best. My wife used to watch it with me. This season and last season they have the blond Lisa on there and now the wife won't watch it me anymore

Vince Wood. That's a great Pawn Star name.

That particular pawn shop here in Las Vegas has always sucked. Now there is a line out front of it all the time because of the show.

I tried to buy a Rolex in there once identical to one I already had to give as a gift. I offered them $1700 cash. They told me they would be losing money if they sold it for less than $2500. A few days later I took my own watch in just out of curiosity (same year, same watch) and they told me they would only give me $900.

Why wouldn't they be satisfied with a $800 profit on a watch? No other pawn shops in the city are like that. We have some great pawn shops here in town. We leave cards on file with the pawn shops for Canon S3IS cameras and any hot pressure washers. They call us the day they hit the floor. We usually buy the cameras for $80.00 or so and that is what I make our youtube videos with. We haven't bought any of the PW's yet.

Well it must be the same everywhere, they all claim poverty, but want almost as much for an item as it cost new, I had heard a long time ago that they depreciate the off pawn stuff for like a yeard after it is on the shelf, so maybe a tax thing.

I am going to Vegas next month, I will for sure drop in and see this place. I always bring lots of stuff to sell when I go. Prices that they pay suck, but keeps this stuff out the hands of the locals around here.

I just saw a video from a couple of years ago, (2003) or so , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gvu6APT3JLYthat was on the Dave Attell show, he dropped in there at like midnight and shot the crap with Rick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gvu6APT3JLY

Do you guys mean my name would make a great pawn star or porn star? If I went with the 2nd one I could most likely make enough money to buy out both Ron and Russ S so they could retire :D

I buy stuff from the Superpawn chain here. They generally price everything around 2/3 new and you can walk out with it between 1/4 and 1/3 the cost of new.

Pawn Shops are hit and miss.
The entire industry has taken a huge hit since ebay and craigslist have come into vouge.
Years ago the pawn shop was the ONLY place that would extend commercial credit to a person. Along came credit cards and that went poof too, now with the economy going a immitation of the last 40 minutes of the movie Titanic pawn shops are starting to come back.
Problem with most pawn stores is they try to charge close to new retail on tools ect since that is how they judge the market price. Walk in see what you want and offer what you will pay if they say no walk out.

Hey Tom, Thanks for the Sublime. Whenever I think of Pawn shop - I think that song. Very cool.
