Parking deck

Here are some pictures of my trailer setup.
This deck is taking longer then I expected but the reclaim is working better as we get using it more. The only problem we are having is getting the 30" surface cleaner to suck up the water good. This past weekend we used the 21" all weekend. One guy pushing and another dragging the hose we made good progress. We ran for 5 hours on 200 gallons of water. We changed the filters after about 8 hours of running and they were not plugged us yet. we wanted to prevent the OWS from over flowing. Some of the best advice I got was from Nigel Griffith, he suggested using a sediment tank. I had a Waterboy tank that I put run the waste water into after the waste tank before the OWS. We clean out 2 5 gal pails of mud from this after the weekend.

That rig is SWEET! You can't pack another inch of equipment on that trailer. I really like it Lenny! Great reclaim rig! Looking good.

Lenny, are the black vertical tubes in the front separation tanks?

The black tubes is the waste tank. Some of the dirt settles in it but not much. It sucks the waste and air from the sand tanks after they are separated. Most of the sand stays in the red tanks or the water boy that is not shown. The water boy stays on the truck for big jobs.

Nice rig... glad its working out for ya. Hope your seeing some profits from it. Im in the market for one right now..thanks for posting

That is great to hear that you are finished with that project Lenny, Congratulations!

What method of emptying the sand/dirt out of the red drums did you use to keep things going fast? Vacuum them out? Tip them over and shake them?

Finally finished this parking deck. We learned a lot about the equipment and got the bugs worked out of the way we did it.
Now we are ready to do more of them. There are not many around here as big as this one. The manager was great to work with.

Did you ever find another contractor to help or did you just do it yourself?

We did it ourselves. A couple of guys couldn't make it. We worked all weekend each week then cleaned the sand out of the sand tank on Monday. They had 3 or 4 inches in them. I also had another tank on the truck after the waste tank that was 48" x 24" that had 4" of sand

The sand/dirt/sludge is one of the big problems when washing huge areas of concrete.

Many have been looking for a better way to deal with this issue but seems like there is no good solution so far, just keep on working and deal with it as you go.
