Oxalic Question !!

I`m trying to remove some rust & leaf stains from concrete. It seems everyone recommends oxalic acid.
1) Does oxalic come in liquid or powder form?
2) If only spot cleaning w/ oxalic, will those spots be brighter than the rest of the concrete?
3) Application: Downstream, ShurFlow, etc.?
4)My usual cleaner is a mixture of an All Purpose Cleaner, De-Greaser and some Bleach. If I do use oxalic, should I use before/after regular cleaning?
5) Will Bleach give me the same results if applied several times?
6) Will oxalic damage store front windows?
Thanks for any and all comments!!!

The oxalic I have been using comes in a powder, and I only use it on wood. I apply with a pump sprayer, mainly because I barely cover the surface, and I can control better this way. I have tried using on concrete a little, but only benefit has beed in brightening.

Bleach will be effective for the leave stains. Possiblly helpful on the rust. It depends on how long they have been there and from what source. The best thing I have tried has been a Zep product ( I pick it up a quart for $5-6 when needed at Home Depot) it's called LIme, Rust, and calcium remover.

What part of GA are you?

Downstreamed bleach for the leaf stains and oxalic acid (8oz powder/gal) for the rust.

I order from the chemistrystore online - powder - $25/25 lbs + shipping. It is available in liquid as RustAid - available at Home Depot - $8/gal

2) If only spot cleaning w/ oxalic, will those spots be brighter than the rest of the concrete?

Yes

3) Application: Downstream, ShurFlow, etc.?

Pump-up sprayer works best for me.

Rinse well first, then the acid, then rinse well again.

What results? OK to reapply as needed for the leaf stains - it won't touch the rust.

6) Will oxalic damage store front windows?

Oxalic acid will etch the glass if you let it dry.

I use oxalic for all rust - on vinyl, dryvit, brick, concrete... Occaisionally, some scrubbing might be needed. I also use oxalic acid to brighten/neutralize decks/fences after cleaning. Others on this and other bbs's prefer to use citric acid instead of oxalic - I suppose I'll try it someday, but I, and my customers, are happy with the oxalic.

john hit the nail on the head but i like to use a x-jet with the close range tip to apply. Much faster.

Thanks for the replies. I will give them a try.
Marv, I`m in the Acworth/Kennesaw area.

Correction to my earlier reply - I meant the oxalic acid may be of some help on rust.

My favorite band is from your area, Third Day. I saw them in Philip's Arena Nov. 01.
