out of town work

How many of you with employee's have done out of town jobs that have staying in motels and eat in restaurants for a few days?

How do you pay the employees? hourly for time worked only, per diem, flat salary?

What about the motel and eating at restaurants, be it fast food or sit down for hot meal at dinner, who pays that, you or your employee's?

How do you charge the contractor for that or do you?

I will have to deal with this down the road as I have already been offered the job once it get to that point in the construction process. I was also offered the next job after that one which will be in the same town and it will be a biggie, a new hospital, all that concrete to clean after the contrators mess it up!!

I could decline but that would be the last time the contractor would offer me work and I like the guy and the company he works for. A bonus is they pay fast too.

Hi Jon,

I pay for meals even when we are not staying overnight!

I pay for rooms, meals and travel time. All of this of course is figured in the cost to the customer.
