our Change !

Congrats Russ. Most of the time good luck only follows hard work. I have out of region people in my back yard. The only thing that goes through my mind is where did I slip up, and how can I build my business. Again. Congratulations.

Russ - Congrats on the growth, it feels good doesn't it. I still get giddy when we sign on a new commercial contract, its a great feeling of accomplishment. Now you have to take Rons advice and keep up on the quality - show em how good you are and you should have a customer for a long time. Congrats once again....but dont bite off more that you can chew.

however in response to my ole buddy Scott K, I didnt intend to piss in anyones sandbox but if you feel that way I guess you are just mad because someone else is "invading" your "territory" no offence intended partner but I was asked for the bid and did not change add to or lower my price to get the job , I let my work and work ethics speak for its self , just as I am sure you do .In fact I originally was only trying to pick up accounts lost due to seperation of the region but it just worked out the way it did , however I am not looking to devolip any more down that way than I have already and I can say that none of this was yours or Hughs nor did you try to get in on the bid.

I see folks here from out of state from time to time and I just lookm at it like this , when I see them I realize that I need to work a little harder and I try to see where I may have slipped.

best of luck to all and I wish everyone good fortune

In the last month alone I have had contractors walk in to my accounts from NY,NC,SC,Al & TN.
All looking to take over someone elses work.I know there are companies with regional contracts etc. and they move through the area, but when they are telling my customers they can't get work at home and will work cheap it's sad.I struggled with my business and now that I am building some success with it I'll be damned if I'm going to let an alien contractor take it from me.
If it weren't for the quality we provide and my customers had services done strictly on price those accounts would be gone.My customers call me when other guys come kicking around to give me a heads up and have a good laugh. The regional director for 1 company just fired off a nasty email to one such alien company and told them if they were unhappy with us they wouldn't keep paying us to do the work. This particular company just happily paid us $800 for 3 hrs work in addition to the monthly work we already do for them.
I have far from slipped,as of late I'm adding more and more monthly accounts.I don't mean to sound like I'm not happy for your company or you,but when there seems to be a huge onslaught of alien contractors looking to yank the rug from under you it gets very frustrating.

Congrats.

hey partner I understand , best wishes and I have but one thing to say , "if you are doing things the way I am sure you are , it will always pay off" you will be here when the dust settles ! Just like me !

I am working on being successful and , like you I will not compromise , I am not cheep and I aint gonna be , if someone wants cheeeeep , I tell them to buy a bird !

i really wouldnt worry about anyone stealing your work if you indeed do good work. who would take the resposibility of getting rid of you and contracting with someone else, not knowing the outcome. with you they already know the outcome, your work speaks for itself. as for any contracting business, you know how that goes, someone else is always there trying to get more work. its just the nature of the business.

Congratulations Russ. Stories like that give me the kick in the pants I need from time to time to keep things growing. Hopefully I can post something similiar in a year or so.

I guess we just sometimes need to remember to look outside the box

here ya go Jeff, here is your buck

You trying to tell me to Buck Off

Hey Russ are you hiring extra guys, are you having an office in these other areas, or are you lining everything up so you can travel and just go and knock it out . Just wondering how you go about a task like you have in front of you. I have a hard time doing three projects at a time in my own area, cant imagine running things in a few states.

Congrats again, I like a challenge it sure looks like you do too

Jeff

Congratulations Russ! Way to go. You are not moving into Texas yet are you? I need to talk to Ron. Maybe he can teach me some more things.
