OSHA Regulations

Some time ago someone posted specifics on the osha confined space regs. Anyone know how to find it. It appears that the Boston area fire marshalls may select IKECA to certify its hood cleaners. From what I heard it will be a written test covering NFPA 96 FIRE CODES and OSHA. Hopefully they will restrict the questions to compliance, cleaning and safety. Osha regs are not commonplace. NFPA are very available,
Anyone have any insight on IKECA test for cleaning. No. I am not asking for cheat sheets. Just what and how to prepare my guys.

google search it.

Ed - The test covers all area's - general knowledge-Ethics - OSHA and NFPA96. The test is not easy and one should be prepared, you can be blindsided if you think you know it "ALL".

David,
Is this the voice of "EXPERIENCE"?
I never know enough. OSHA Regs cover a myriad of topics and travailing over all of them downright futile. I am looking for a synthesis of the regs. that will be covered.

Thanks for that. I have it downloaded. There is a ton of reading about permit required confined space. I don't believe that duct diving is permit required. It is confined space though. Do you know where the non permit required confined space information is. My head hurts from all the unnecessary reading I have done so far. About permit required. If not , NP. Thanks again for the help.

It probably is not that bad or complicated. We had to become permit writers and get certified to write confined space permits at the refinery.

We went into places that are not meant for human occupancy (confined space) and did inspections, inspected other's work, etc.... Since you only deal with cleaning grease and more than likely have good ventilation you probably do not need to be as involved as other industries out there.

Other Industries you have to take air samples every 15 minutes and record them and keep them for future reference, have a hole watch, work in shifts, check the temperatures with the air samples, etc.... it can be very time consuming and tedious but that is how OSHA wants it to be so people are safe.

I went there mark, lots of verbage that doesn't really apply. Also a part of the manual was "on hold".
Would you know the specifics of non permit required confined space.
I called OSHA today. Got a woman who could hardly speak english. She wanted to help but I spent most of my time just trying to figure out what english words she was mispronouncing. After she got lots of information from me, she gave me another phone number. All I wanted was the section number to look up but noooOOOOOooooo after 15 minutes of her speeeekinkkk iiinglisk she gave me another phone number. What else could I spect? AGHHHHHH government phone attendants probably working from their unit on the basket of their bicycle in a rice field in Paskistan.

I work in the facilities department of a federal prison,(pressure washing is my other job) all our confined spaces are permit required and we have to do air testing harness and winch system, air blowers, the whole deal. Not sure about non permit required we never really cover that in our training because ours all require a permit.
