I am trying to clean oil stains off of really white concrete I have tried the following , Caustic Soda, Dawn, Sodium Hypochloride 12%, Concrete Cleaner from home depot, Oxalic Acid, I have gone over these oil stains with my surface cleaner 3500 psi @ 4.5 gpm at 200 degrees .. ( Gone over about 8 times.. Everytime the stain gets darker and darker... I am about to go nuts..

I even wet the surface and applied kitty litter and only got a little oil up..

So I am pissed off today .. I finally found something that I Can't Clean... UGGGHH !!!!

Any ideas .. I haven't tried muratic acid yet, But Muratic acid is not a degreaser so I Probably will just be throwing away more money...

I thought maybe tonight I will go by and try wetting the oil stains in the parking lot and the sprinkling straight caustic bead on the concrete and then letting it soak.. and then rinse....???????

John, I have found that hydrofluoric acid products make excellent stain removers for concrete. A good strong concentration over the whole surface ought to do it. You have to do the whole pad because the white spots will stand out. It is going to etch the concrete a little, and be VERY careful with the HF. It is an extremely dangerous chemical, but used with caution by a professional, can't be beat. It also removes rust stains much faster than oxalic.

EacoChem (www.eacochem.com) - GS Restoration or SafeRestore do beautifully on concrete. Have you looked into the powdered KreteMagic or ReKrete (technically same product) applications? You spread it with a broadcast spreader, brush in with a soft soft broom and leave. There are little microorganisms in this stuff that feed on oil. It may take several applications, but once the oil is gone (a) the little eaters die and (b) the stain is pretty much gone. Steve Rowlett has this. (800) 357-6295(www.rowlettpressure.com)
