I didn't post these to attack my competition, if I knew who he was I would invite him here to learn how to handle and oil spill properly.

We will talk about how this Disatster could have been prevented pretty simple. This is how storm water people and the general public flip out. The UAMCC should provide these standards free to the entire industry.

These are not secrets of the trade but secrets that have not been shared for 30 years that have larger effects on our industry when contractors Screw up.

This is similar to how The Houston MESS started.

Maybe I'm not seeing something but it looks to me like someone just threw some kitty litter on it and let everyone drive thru it? Probably someone from inside the store from the things I've seen in the past.

The store by my advice did the right thing, it was a Hydraulic leak from a Truck. The Power steering hose Blew right as they stopped in Door way. They coned the area applied absorbent I recommended. The spill was contained, that night one of my guys went by to check the time this would take after Close.

he determined around 30 to 45 minutes tops maybe less.

Later that night a pressure washer decided he would remove the cones and start washing. He spent roughly three hours to create this Mess.

He Knew he has Screwed up so he rapidly pushed most into handicap spaces and left. I believe he had hoped not to be detected

These are the types of things with out Vacuums that can be prevented. Once we get to this stage recovery is almost a Must and gets expensive. Prior all this guy needed was a trash can broom and shovel.
 
That is such a shame this happened, you would think that someone would have enough sense to make calls and if it is after hours to delay the cleaning and call the next day and make sure the mess is cleaned up so the mess would not end up like it did.

No Chris the Store did that, we had been waiting until this guy started prior to that process. Now the store was hours away from Opening with a Huge liability on there hands.
 
Just out of curiosity, was the power washer someone that the store hired to clean the oil up, or the guy that had a contract to clean the side walks and thought he would try his hand at cleaning an oil spill?
