Got a call from a Murphy oil manager (You know they are the walmart gas stations) to come out and give and estimate.Roll on out there and measure it 7450 sq ft to clean.Talk to the manager and she says the only people that have ever cleaned it was the employees with their machine.(15 years).I ask about cleaning it regularly, she says no just this once.Do you want all the gum up or are you just wanting to get the oil up for an inspection?Yep we want it all up.Theres probably 30 lbs of gum around this place, and the islands are terrible with oil and grease so I add another hundred bucks to the first price in my mind.

Give her the quote thru the little glass window of $845.00 and she reads it and goes "OH MY LORD"!!!!!!I don't think we are going to need this.

What do you think?Too high, too low, just right?

Too low. They wanted you to do it for $200.

What's that work out to, like $0.08 a square foot ? With all the oil, gas and gum that's dirt cheap.

Walk away, some hack will hose 'em.

If it's a 1 time gig i would charge them at least .08/.10 a sq ft.

Oooops Sorry! I thought this was the Religious thread. :angel2: As you were! :D

Makes you wonder if anyone will ever clean it properly with the right equipment or will they wait until there is an accident, fire or someone slips and then sues them?

You would think that with all the slip and fall accidents throughout the years the insurance agents would start making visits to places once in a while and make sure that they are trying to keep the place safe, even on concrete.

I was in Wal Mart a couple nights before I left for Tampa and there were people standing around and this lady arguing with a store employee about her daughter slipping on the floor and getting hurt.

The lady said that her daughter slipped and hurt her arm and leg and were saying that the girl was dizzy and her head hurt and was feeling sick now. I listened for a minute and looked, the girl had no marks on her legs or arms and was just looking at her mom and not saying much. When the employee asked the girl questions the mom answered and told the girl not to say anything. Wow.

You never know, it could have happened but the way the lady said how much pain the girl was in, they should have called an ambulance but the lady said that they did not need one. The girl was just looking at stuff on the shelf and walking around while her mom did all the talking. I am suprised that the store manager was not there and involved in the conversation and called out an ambulance just in case to have the girl checked. I am sure that the video surveillance will help in the case.
