Agreed. Yet at $40 a pop, they're practically disposable.

If you are serious about getting into the business, you might contact someone that is out of your work area and try to work out something with them to work with them for a day or two and see if you even like this kind of work, lots of guys get into this with no clue and end up selling their equipment for less than 1/2 the price they paid for it.

Another reason to go work with someone is to see how they do things, have their trailers rigged up and why, how they do the jobs, the efficiency of how things are run on the jobs (these will save months or years of learning the hard way) and what to do when problems happen.

I asked a guy in Greenville already, he didn't seem to want to let me come by and see his operation. It's ok, sooner or later someone will and if not I'll have to wing it. After getting the things I need, I'll be sure to practice on my house and some friends as well! Thanks for the help!

Think about that for a minute, lets say you use 40 gallons of mix for a roof cleaning, thats mixing up 20 times and up and down a ladder 20 times. There is really no use for a backpack sprayer.
 
I know a couple
of painting contractors that use back sprayers to prep and wash the house before painting. 4 guys on 40 foot ladders. Start at the bottom and work there way up and rinsing with a hose. Pretty fast too !
 
There is the option to go on a trip to Doug and take his class and he will teach you just about everything you need to know and I am sure it will dramatically shorten the learning curve besides help give you a running start for the upcoming season.
