Not understanding pumps

If you are using a buffer tank, there is no need for the TRV as you will be bypassing back into the water tank, you can do that for long periods of time, no problem.

I thought you either had adequate water supply or you did NOt, that's what im confused at. I currently have one 1 inch hose line going to the pump, just wondering if I brake it off to two feed lines will it help the pump last longer maybe making it easier on the pump????? will it make it more adequate???? thanks

Okay, how about this.

Your pump will do fine giving it the water that it needs.

My pump will be finer because I give it more than it needs.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with leaving your pump the way it is.

There is adequate and then there is full up, overflowing abundance.

I prefer abundance.

From a pressure washing distributor, should explain it all.

NOTE: On any tank feed system each pump must be fed by its own separate feed line only. Never feed multiple pumps with one common feed line.
NOTE: For Tank Feed Systems over 7 GPM, feed pumps through BOTH inlets to ensure proper flow and prevent cavitation and damage to pump.
 
This thread is all screwed up now.

Chris, that's not my setup. That's a picture compliments of Jerry Mcmillen. He sent me that one and a few others a couple years ago during a discussion of dual feeding pumps and I remembered I still had them.
Thanks anyway though.

Have you ever had any problem with that kind of feed hose? It looks like a good idea. I've had problems with the braided line caving in or getting pinched and starving the pump

In this picture, that is the polybraid hose, I have had it collapse on my 8gpm machine so I switched to the red hose, some call it heater hose, it is harder to collapse and it has not collapsed in years that I have had it in place.

In Tim's post, that hose is not the clear polybraid, it has a spiral metal wire under the white stripe that works great, I had that on one of my machines a few years ago and it worked good, no collapse at all.

That will work great or the thick walled air/water/gas hose, utility hose, heater hose, etc.... will work good for the supply line to the pumps, just don't use the polybraid as it can collapse, especially on a hot day.
