No Pressure

Needing help on this one. For the last month during a few times I have started up machine I have been having problems with pump priming and building up pressure. I have got it going by using shut off valve about 10 ft away close to unit. It would prime and everything would be ok from that point on. Well Today I could not get it to prime no matter what.Turned off and on, use shut off, tried turning unloader down and back up. Nothing worked...

Got a full week next week and am curious if someone could help me narrow down problem. Would I need a new Pump or is it like a valve in the unloader sticking?

My Mechanical abilities are thus : If it breaks I learn about it...

Unit is Honda 4.0 / 4000psi 13.0 Hp
General Pump Ez4040
Pulsar Unloader 280

Thanks for any help in advance...

The most comon cause of this is an air leak. Check all of your hoses and clamps. If you have bad seals in the pump they will draw air in too. The last time I saw a problem like this one of the connecting rods broke inside of the pump. To check this you drain the pump oil out and open the back cover and physically check.
Also check the valves and see if anything is stuck in them. Call me if you need a walk thru.

Thanks for reply John,

Problem was fixed next day by replacing unloader. I had a easy start bypass that I removed. Spring had broken off and caused problem. I was told easy start bypass is unessary and found this to be true most of the time except when I need to refill with gas and have to walk back around house or up on roof to let pressure off gun. Inconvient but small price to pay for no hassles in future.

Great thing about this is that old unloader lost flow over time and putting on new one gave me full flow which was sweet.

Thanks again
