I just got back from our meeting and was very happy with the info I got from the guys that came out.
I was surprised to see Ron had came in from Arizona for our meeting. He had a lot of information and helpful hints for all of us.
It is nice to see guys that are in my same location helping me out
with ways to improve my business.
Thanks !!

Well being from NJ I hope you learned the word "Diversify!
Unless of course you didn't have the neighbors call the cops everytime you fired up your rig this year!

Roundtable Meeting

I too, thought the meeting was both productive and positve. It was attended by 15 or so contractors and both BB members and the local contractors came away with great ideas, new relationships, recharged batteries, and much more.I would like to thank all who attended , those who came over from PA,and Ron Musgraves who flew in and had much to share. Also would like to thank the Indian Chief in Medford for giving us a quiet, private area in which to have the meeting. To all of you who didn't attend a meeting or who haven't yet,BIG mistake. These meetings are only positive and help in elevating the professionalism of the industry as a whole.I would like to see a way for these to grow and be backed by other indusrty leaders, I truly believe we have definitely started something in our neck of the woods.By the way,DIVERSIFY was brought up on more than one occasion.

Me Too!

I felt good about the meeting - picked up more than I expected.

Mr. Wood, After attending the meeting I'm finding that I'm TOO divesified. I think I need to be more like Ron and follow the K.I.S.S method. He does one thing only (flat work) and does it well.

Anyway I look forward to the next one. Peace - Tim McCulla

I want to thank Everett for being a leader and Hosting the round table in the first Place. Leadership is what it takes to have a successful business and I know from meeting Everett he is a success.

It was great to meet Mike Hughes finally after talking with Mike for the last three years on telephone. I hope he’s not in the dog house because I kept him out pretty late. Mike might be a rookie but possesses the knowledge of a veteran and surly is a professional guy. I will be back next spring to seal a deck from start to finish.

Tim M. I really enjoyed your enthusiasm. You’re a young guy that really wants a larger business. Something tells me you’re on the way to achieving your goals. Tim I believe from talking with you I know that you will succeed in what ever direction you take your business because I can tell you’re already successful. I can see you’re focused on taking the bull by the horns and making more money. Your line of questioning was in the right train of thought. Good luck Tim and stay in touch.

Mark W.

It was a pleasure to put a face with the guy. I enjoyed talking with you and can see your enthusiasm as well. Its funny you mentioned the talk about the misses telling you to shut up about pw. Pw this and that, LOL I remember when my wife and still sometimes says hey enough with the PW stuff. Mark balance your time and try not to think about pw around them. At least don’t let them your thinking about it, talk to yourself. Always give yourself a break from it too, don’t get burned out!!!!

The others,

Guys it was wonderful meeting, I thank you guys for showing up. I appreciate you listening to me ramble on. I appreciate the conversations I had with those I got a chance to speak with. The sharing of marketing material was wonderful. Exchanging business cards was even great. If there’s anything I might be able to help with feel free to call me and I hope I could call you guys if I needed anything. Its may sound a little corny but I made a few more contractor friends and I appreciate that each and every time it happens. I encourage you guys to get together once in awhile and keep each other motivated.

Thank you to everyone that attended.

My thanks to Everett also!

Ron, It was a pleasure meeting you finally also. Wouldn't most people here be a rookie if compared to someone who's been in the business 18 years?! :)

Here is a picture I snapped while we were doing show and tell. I forgot to take one inside though........oh well.

Ron your guts seem to smaller then when I last saw you, did your better half put you on a diet ?

Tim Mc Culla you state Ron used the KISS system and does one thing well, flat work, WRONG, he is very good with making friends, giving advice and eating too!

What I find hard to understand is NO one in CA is truly willing to meet their conter part and share idea's.

Alan and I were willing to but our shedules for that day did not allow it and no one else was willing.

What is it with CA pressure washers that makes them so leary of others?

I have met a few but even those seem to now hide.

Mike if you would have told me about the profile photo i would have sucked that gut in. LOL
Hey Ron,
That's my gut taking up the whole picture. lol
I guess I'll have to work a little harder and less on the beer:p

Profiles

To all,

I think after seeing all of us from the front this board might be shut down! Thank God for profiles! It really was a good time and beneficial.

Jon,

You guys in CA have all that top secret equipment and methods that we can't know about. If you invite me though I'll sign all the confidential paperwork necessary. I guess after a certain point people begin to want to get involved. People think that 3-5 people is a waste of time. Once we got to 10 or so the phone started ringing. There were actually 4 or 5 people who said they were coming didn't show up , I bet they come next time! It really was fun.

Ron,

It is a good thing the picture was taken before we all ate !

Hey Everett,
I just want to say I was very impressed with your professionalism. I liked the way you stepped up to host the meetings for being new to the board. I hope we can get together some time and talk shop.
Thanks again.

Mark W,

Thanks for the comments. I'll talk shop anytime just give me a call. I'll stay in touch , it was nice to meet you and put a face to the name.I am working on a plan to do it more often and with more folks, perhaps quarterly. If you are a football fan you don't have to twist my arm to get me to CHAMPS on a Sunday!

Everett,
I was thinking quarterly myself. It can only help us.
I like the fact that with this business we can share invo and be doing business in the same area.
You dont find that very offen with other kinds of work.
People think that p. washers are at the bottom of the trade list. Well we are at the top of the list when it comes to helping each other out.
There is enough work for all of us.
Since I found this board, I have meet some great people!
Lets do Champs soon.

Everett I went down to AZ to Ron's last year and it was good, nice guys, no sort of competitors secrets and all knew each other as friends.

That is how it should be too! No one has to say who their accounts are and what they charge but geez just getting together as a group and shooting the bull and talking equipment etc. is what it is about and from there things can and will grow.

But again not here in So. CA. perhaps up in Northern CA.

Jon

Hey Jon,
I keep reading your posts and feel you are getting lonely out there with no meeting to go to.
Well i'm sure if you fly us all in and give us a place to stay, we will be happy to help you out. :D
I would love to hear some of your stories!

The people out west are so tight lipped, ron had to flly all the way out here for a meeting! :)

Hey Mike,
I had a great time talking to you.
I was looking forward to meeting you, when I seen you where coming to the meeting.
I guess Jon needs to come to the east coast for the next meeting.
He can stay with me if he does some flat work around my house. :D
Just kidding Jon, I know you dont need us we need you.:)
