How do you like the plywood duct work on this baby? There was an old time fan pointed up this thing on top of one of the fryers..no filters.

And I thought I had seen some bad stuff.

What does the one on the left go to? Nice picture-just asking for problems!. They do have their own standards in mind.

Dave I think you meant the one on the right...That is the duct for the rest of the system..big up blast sitting at the top. As you can see on the homemade access panel..they destroyed the duct. I would have to have a sheet metal dude come in and fix that fubar and put in a proper UL acess panel...somehow I don't think they will buy my recommendation.

The plywood duct has about an 1 1/2" grease build up inside of it. I was affraid the flash on the camera was going to cause it to spontainiously combust.

No I meant the one on the left-I know the one on the right has problems.

I am not sure they can fix the upsweep, so that you can install a new door. So at the top of the upsweep you have an up blast fan with a hinge kit-I bet not.

The worker safety issues with the electrical wire are another concern.

Oh the one on the left--the plywood duct is a matchstick from the kitchen. There is an old desktop fan (old days metal baldes) rigged up into this little brick chiminey right above a fryalator...no filters..homemade shroud.. thats a duct Dave!!!! Lots a black grease in that puppy too.

And yeah the fan has no hnges..sad thing is...this is a straight upsweep only about 11 feet total..why they hacked it instead of installing hinges????...It's a Puerto Rican thing we will never understand.

Here is the grease containment system on this same system.

The theory of the Cook filter is fine, collect the grease and toss the filter when it is full. the real-life is different. Those filters I have seen plug up w/congealed grease, the plastic tube breaks. A good idea, it just does not work.

Here's one of those contraptions. These are at a big casino out here and almost every fan has one. Here's the other attempt at it. Love those sandboxes!

I can find help! They don't need to be trained.
