I'm just starting out in pressure washing and I just wanted to know what all do I need to get the job done. Keep in mind, I don't have a lot to spend. I went out this weekend and rented a cold water 3000psi washer and tried my driveway. I used a concrete wash chemical from home depot and it did a pretty good job except for the oil stains. What can I do for that?

Or could somebody point me in the right direction as to where I should start?

Its like going to the bathroom, depends on what your going to do in here as what you'll need to get the job done.

As for the stain try useing something made for removing oil,I know hotwater helps to get it off ya hands.

I'm looking to start with flat surfaces, driveways and decks. I'm doing this as a part time job for now. Hopefully if things work out, I'll be able to make this a full time thing.
As far as pressure washers, what should I look for?

Like BigBoy said it depends on what you want to do. If doing mostly residential work ie: decks, homes and sidewalks then 3000 psi cold water and the proper chemicals will do for you. If you want to do driveways and commercial flatwork then you must have a hot water unit. I do mostly residential work and some degreasing machinery and truck washing. I have a Landa 4gpm 3000 psi cold water unit with a 225 gallon tank. The grease will come off with the proper chems and cold water but it takes a long time. I would say do it right the first time and get a hot water skid unit with a tank and trailer. Some skids go for as low as around 3,000.00 and go up to 7,000.00. A cold water unit is 1,500.00 for a good one. I would go hot water if I had to do it all over again. I will soon be purchasing a hot water unit either a Landa or Hydrotek. Good luck

Thank you Mike and Bigboy!
I plan on doing sidewalks, drive ways and decks.
As far as chemicals, what would work best for drive ways? And Primarily, old oil stains?

Visit your local distributor and ask what they sell that will remove grease from concrete with cold water. I use a product from my local distributor to cut grease it's called detergent 5500 from Master Chem. It is an alkaline cleaner with sodium hydroxide and has a ph of around 12.5 . It is pretty strong and works well on almost any stain. Anything with sodium hydroxide and a high ph will cut grease.
