If Shane if new to 6.0L engines have him sign up @ www.powerstroke.org he'll get a faste dcuation on the do's and don'ts of owning one. There are a few mods that can save a lot of headaches before they happen.Mine is broke down right now waiting on an oil cooler & egr delete.
They are great trucks just tell him at 8000lbs it's not a deep mud off road truck
Yeah we did alot of research before getting this truck the later 06's and 07's don't have the problems the earlier models did. did you put a programmer on yours? And I already told hi he can play in the mud with his GMC the F250 is just to pretty for all that. (like he is going to listen) You didn't hear it from me but a few weeks ago he got the GMS stuck in the mud and his friend pulled him out with a jeep wrangler. that will break a mans ego...
I stuck my f250 about 300ft into a cotton field and had to be pulled out by a tractor.
What are you doing driving around cotton fields Scott?
A tractor is better than a jeep. but thank you I will pass the info on as I drive it and he maintains it. I love the truck I hope it give us few problems and lasts.Yes I run a programmer(edge ez),but that wasn't what caused my problem.Even the 06 and 07's can float a head, have egr cooler & oil cooler failures(the last two caused by the coolant used by Ford).I'm switching mine to an elc ec-1 coolant to fix that problem and adding a coolant filter.
I will have an sct prrgrammer on it after the repairs. It not only has programs, but will read engine codes as well.I'm also looking into gauges something I didn't have before.
