make sure to use a dual battery isolator so that you don't get stranded outside someones house and have to ask for a boost
Chris, what is a dual battery isolator????? I have not heard of that so I am asking.
Thanks.
If you had a bic lighter that could be a hot water rig j/k seriously is that a closed system ?Travis, you got me thinking and I put myself together a small skid too.
garages any one ?
I wish those were mine... My kids might actually like me then....hahahaWow. We all went through those early stages of using inferior equipment like that, but it's hard to part with it. It has sentimental value. Have a yard sale man!
They are used in boats to switch between the primary battery and the backup battery so you don't get stranded. Four settings "Battery A" - "Both" - "Battery B" - and "Off".
Actually I believe isolators are different than the marine type battery switches. They allow a second battery to be charged but it won't participate in starting the engine. Kind of like a big diode. Only allows current to run one direction. They also allow proper charging of each battery. So you can run accessories without the risk of running the main battery down. They use them for those annoying giant powered sub woofers etc.
you need the pump mounted as close to the battery as possible, the Delavan draws a ton of current under use and I would also recommend that you use a deep cycle battery as well so that when you are in use for an extended time the battery does not become weak and fail to power the pump like it should causing it to burn up prematurelyI also forgot to mention that I'm going to put a trailer outlet in the bed of the truck. It will run off the truck battery to plug the pump into. No more charging batteries or running cables.
