New setup - few questions

hi there

I bought a 5.5@3500 belt driven from Envirospec around a week ago and I have a couple questions to improve my day-to-day use.

I work from a van and my equipment is portable, no trailer so far and I don't know if I want to add one, so I get to the house, unload machine, setup my hoses and move the machine only once if needed. I like to have it not way too far from me so I can turn it on/off when needed, a remote would be awesome :)

I cleaned a house, pool patio and driveway yesterday, pool patio and small concrete patch turned out great, but the driveway was left with a few marks from the surface cleaner, a 20" Hammerhead, the pool and patch didn't show any marks, so I don't know if it was too much pressure overall, or just too much pressure for the driveway's concrete.

I'm using the factory tips that came with the SC and there's no marking on them, I'm assuming they're 15degrees based on what I've read around here. My question is, if I want to lower the pressure, is ok to use two 4030 or 4035 ?? Would that be too much pressure lost ?

Also I noticed this machine sucks a lot of water and if you're not pulling from a tank, it struggles to keep up with the water from the tap, I'm sure that's gonna hurt the motor/pump in the long run, so I was wondering if someone has setup a buffer tank, like 30gals for a portable unit like this. I know is not hard to do it when you're working from a trailer, but my space is limited as it is. I was looking at a collapsible Water tan from NorthernTools, that is supposed to be use to catch rain water, and is easy to setup and take down. Any ideas would be appreciated

Last concern is related to the previous one I guess. I noticed the other day that if you release the trigger just for a little bit, 20 secs, water temperature is kinda high .... I had the idea that you can release for a short period of time, at risk of hurting the seals, but never imagined it was so little. My other 4GPM direct drive deals better with that issue, and I thought a belt drive was going to make it easier on the pump. If I can get a solution to use a buffer I can bypass it at the same time to solve the two problems at once.

thanks and enjoy the rest of the weekend

With #3 nozzles, you'll be around 3300 - 3400 psi, with #35s, you'll be around 2500 psi.

If you need to keep it truly portable, maybe a garden cart with a 15 gallon sprayer tank would work for you.

Last concern is related to the previous one I guess. I noticed the other day that if you release the trigger just for a little bit, 20 secs, water temperature is kinda high .... I had the idea that you can release for a short period of time, at risk of hurting the seals, but never imagined it was so little. You can bypass back to the tank, even with the tank on a garden cart. Just use quick couplers on your bypass and feed line to make moving the pressure washer and the cart easier.

The machine SHOULD be able to bypass for 3 - 5 minutes without getting very hot. It almost sounds like you've got a problem with the unloader, making it regulate, but not "unload".

thanks and enjoy the rest of the weekend
