I bought a swann also, but I got the 8 channel 2600 (the newer faster chip than the 2550) with 4 cameras through Costco. Regularly $500-600 from other stores but they packaged them special promotion through costco for $299. I haven't set it up yet, but I just got it a week ago. You can also check out swannstore.com for refurbished or discontinued cameras. I talked to a swann rep and he said that there was a big difference between the 2550 and the 2600dvrs. Also, they will be coming out with an iPad app by the end of the year too!

I have had the logitech hooked up for about five years. I can look at office remote and shop area. I can even Pan the cams. Only have three. Can ad more. Just don't use them much.

I guess them just being there solved issues

I have somewhere that I installed a $20 fake camera because of vandalism. I have not had any vandalism at that location since I put it in. That reminds me, I should replace the battery for the LED.

It isn't my shop. It is a customers location, that's near Ron..
 
The camera near Ron's is a real camera that only looks fake (that is how the orgs keep an eye on him)
 
Just got the Swann system. Saved 160 by making Fry's price match the internet. The manager ordered the one on the internet right in front of me to replace the one I bought. He said that way they can price match without losing money. Funny.

I have it displayed on the big screen in the living room and spread around other areas of the house showing on old flatscreen computer monitors.

You should have hid it better. They always look in the vents!

I would be more worried if it caught Ron after a shower.
 
Has anybody found a way to block out tree leaf shadows setting off the motion detection when they blow? It's almost impossible to block out the areas where the leaves are because they move across the ground as the sun moves. Any ideas Ty?

Wish I could help you Tony, I have that same problem, trees moving or leaves falling are recorded on mine as well. I still can't get over how I can access everything from my phone! I love it.
