I just purchased a 11hp honda clone motor from harbor frieght today for $179.00 They are closing them out. You cant beet that price. Even if it only lasts half as long as my honda's i will be very happy.
 
I've had 3 of them, back to running better equipment now. They served their purpose when money was tight. I hope I never have to run cheap engines again, that was a lesson learned. One thing after another with the, switches, carb problems, plastic parts breaking, valve guide wearing out resulting in losing an exhaust valve, electric start motor wearing out, recoil assembly breaking, the list goes on and on, costantly working to fix and repair. Good luck with a bad engine bro!
 
I plan on using for a month or 2 then putting it on a small trailer i have for a backup. Does anyone have a complete backup pressure washer?.. I have always used flatbed trucks for my setups. They have there problems including....what if your truck breaks down? It happened to me several times last year. Now i am wanting to have a complete but small setup on a trailer as a backup.
 
my experience with harbor freight motors is to buy the replacement warranty for an extra $20 (i think or close to it) becuause you're more than likely going to use it. not a bad price...does that one have the electric start too?

I paid the extra $20 for the extended warranty. So i actually paid $200. Yes it has the electric start. I have found that even the honda pull starts have problems with the cords breaking at the worst possible time.
 
I have one from harbor and another from POS... They Harbor motor runs great but electric start just went out.. the POS.. well i cant keep a rope on it and the electric start doesnt work... hell I cant even get the thing to start... Going with kawasaki from now on.. My bro bought one and i think its 12hp for around 500 bucks and man that thing runs sweet..
 
One thing to try it to look at the pull starter assembly and see if you can rotate it so your cord is not dragging across the opening when you start it. I moved the mount around one bolt on a honda 13 hp and the cord that would last 6-8 months has now lasted 3 years.
The HF motors are OK if you are in a tight spot and need to be up and running quick or you need a sloppy second machine on the cheap, but for day in day out operation I would go with a name brand motor you trust.
 
Did you guys see the "Amazing Race" episode where they were in India or somewhere and had to pump water into a truck and deliver it? There were dozens of honda motors there with the front covers off and each truck driver just brought their own cord, wrapped it and pulled. No worries about broken ropes there. But we have to be protected from stupidity and efficiency because some one might stick a finger in it.

BTW, I use a honda and a HF 13hp for backup and sometimes use them both for close to 10gpm when I need it. It's not the best setup for concrete cleaning, but works well for what we do.
 
I was able to get it for that price because they are going over to a new motor design.
