Is anyone familiar with the acid used to clean brick on new homes? I would also appreciate any advice from the pro's on new home construction cleaning.

I have an opportunity to bid with a large home builder on new home construction cleaning and would like to know alittle more about the chems. used and the best procedures from those that know.

OK after some more research I see oxalic and muriatic acids are used quite often. Do you pre wet then apply the acid with a sprayer then rinse after a few minutes dwell time. Do you need to apply with pressure?

There's a Guy Roger that Handles this type of stuff, you might locate him at TGS www.thegrimescene.com

There are a few guys here, but he comes to mind off the top of my head.

Good Luck Steve, maybe someone here will chime in

There are many diferent types of applications you will run into. What are you trying to clean off? Clay stains, mortar smears, effloressance? Be very carefull in working for a large builder. Make sure you have a good contract that reads payment terms very clearly. I used to work as president of land development and the guys who did not have a good contract got paid last or not at all. Make sure you have in writing that after 30 days you now have the right and will charge them 10%weekly.

First thing you need to know the type of brick being cleaned there are several i would steer clean of the muratic and the ox on any new brick home.On certain types of brick muratic will do funny stuff to the brick. You would be safest using sure kleen 600 on the most delicate brick vanatrol works well.Do smaller sections at a time an prewet the wall first and let the chemical to the work and keep the pressure on the lower side 1200 - 2000 max good luck and beware that your hoses will get very dirty on these jobs lol.

Thanks for all the help fella's. What is NMD-80, Vanitrol, and Sure Kleen 600. Are they some form of acid or something different all together.
