Hey Guys,

I need to place a bid on a a building ( new consrtuction ) to wash the brick. What they want is to have the protective wax that covers the brick off. Has anyone done this type of work before? If yes what did you charge. Roughly 4000 sqft feet of brick. Thanks for the help.

That same exact question is posted over on RCIA by a company called Oklahoma Roof Cleaning. You guys competing on same job?

Regarding your question I'd look into eacochem nmd80.

NMD80 isn't going to do squat on that. Why do they want to remove the coating?

Not competing for the job, tryin to help each other out.

Out of curiosity I actually called a friend of mine who's a sales rep for Acme brick and he said he's never heard of new brick having any sort of sealant or waxy like substance on it. Wonder what it is that's on it?
I'd also be leery of cleaning brick with any high pressure as it's fairly porous and if the house wrap or tyvek etc wasn't put on well then you could possibly have leak issues. I've also seen some pretty sloppy masonry work in Oklahoma (I lived and worked in Edmond and still have an office there) where the weep holes were packed full of mortar not allowing any water that penetrated to drain back out.

Wax coating thats a new one here also.Let us know when you find out what type wax it is.Long time brick cleaner here never any wax to clean.

It was a brick veneer walls, veneer was set in grids and the wall was poured and cured then stood them up and connected them. Heck of a job getting that wax off, it was stubborn stuff. But we got-er done.

Yes we did. It really was one hell of a job. With the help of Troy and his crew from Epic Solutions. We completed the job on Saturday evening. We have pics and video we will post once we get them loaded onthe computer. Thanks again for the help Troy

I remember back in Fl that the new construction brick homes had some sort of glazing on the brick that made it have a light sheen, but since I did not power wash then I did not ask.
