Need help on new roof cleaning set-up.

I'm getting ready to start cleaning some three and four story tile roofs, and I am worried my current set-up will not push the chemical through 300' of 1/2 hose and up to the heights I need. I have the twin pump electric set-up from the powerwash store which has worked great for residential up to two stories. Thinking about the set-up using the air compressor and pump to ensure I have presssure at four stories and dont want to get started on the job and realize I have to wait for a new system.

Big air compressor with a big tank. 1" aodd pump (pumps 58 gpm) 200' of 3/4" hose and nozzle from master industries. 120 lbs of air and it shoots 71'. Only way to go.

We gave used 12 volt since 1992 and have cleaned 3 and 4 story regularly. Our new system hits in excess of 15 stories with 1/2 inch hose easily. I love 12 volt. Our companies have now cleaned well in excess of 60,000 roofs using 12 volt. AC

Hey, you could change your name to DC Lockyer.

Thanks for the advice I think I will do a test run this week and see how the 12v units perform before I spend the extra cash. I still like the air compressr route if the commercial keeps up!

WOW!!!!!~ A 12volt pump that shoots almost 180'. Must be a custom made model

Well the last time I checked, this was still a free country and people could go anywhere they desired, without approval from others that think they are somebody.
You seem to think I ran the other forum into the ground, based on what info I have no idea. Probably just your opinion. Opinions are just like azz holes. Everybody has one, and most of them stink.
Seriously, have you ever seen or heard of a 12v pump shootin 15 stories??? Come on get real.!!
Peace my friend.

Sorry your reading comprension is not up to par, but here is the statement. Average story, appro 12' X 15 stories= 180'
They may be lubricated with snake oil, or a special blend of "top secret" products and additives.??

Ok, I see it now.

I really think that he meant that it will go up via hose that high, not spray because the wind will carry it away but you just never know.

When I was using my Bandit Roller pump, it was 6gpm and 150psi and it would shoot up about 60' or 70' without any wind, I used it to clean the eaves on 4 and 5 story buildings along with the sides of buildings.

The 12 volt pump will probably push the chemicals up through the hose that high maybe but when it sprays out the nozzle I would think it loses a lot of it's pressure by then and probably will not spray too far out unless it is the fatboy pump/pumps or larger 12 volt pumps like the other brand.

If anything was known about plumbing you would know that to get the water pressure up to the top floor you need 1/2 lb of pressure per foot of rise. So 180 feet up with 90 PSI would do it but that is without losing any pressure at the tip. If you are walking the roof you do not need that kind of pressure so 60 psi would push that liquid up no problem. Yeah you are going to have pressure drop but if you are walking the roof it just may take a little longer.

Im walking all of the roofs so I only need the chem to be pumped to the roof height would never expect to spray 15 stories. If your even spraying a three story from the ground your killing all the neighbors plants!!
