This is obviously just an opinion but I feel letting people know you are an owner/operator does not make you look good in general. I think that term makes the customer think they feel they are using a small fly by night business, even though thats not the case. I always think the bigger you seem the better. When I was an owner/operator I tried to pretend I was just an employee. I never lied to customers if they asked, but I purposely never went out my way to tell them. I would bring my clipboard and run through procedures like I had a boss. I found I received more tips from residential customers. I also found that commercial customers paticularly do not want to hire owner/operators it gives them the idea you cannot handle the work even though you can.
I wouldn't even put my name on marketing materials. As for business cards, just put ur name no title or come up with a title for your position. Sub-conciously this may also help you move away from this position in the future if that is your goal. Just my 2 cents.

I think it works both ways
I do agree having the term "owner operator" does make you look small
However, regarding dealing with the owner- although its something i dont actively promote i know ive won some jobs when it came up as the client felt comfortable dealing directly with the owner
With that being said, i thinks its important , as Ty said, to always make yourself, your company look bigger than it really is
I think it brings a sense of comfort to a potential client that you can handle the job
