My new hose

Is it just me or is it really frustrating when people run over your hoses. I put cones up and still no effect. Today some guy peeled out over my new hose, I almost pick up a rock and tossed it through his window!

Whats great is when someone manages to run over ALL your hoses two or four times! You know, they pull up (1), back up because they cant go through (2), drive away and clip them one last time (3) :fie:

I used to get very upset all the time but these days there are more and more A**holes everywhere and they want to drive over your hoses and cones. It is not worth getting upset over it all the time because they will do it every chance you get.

When I used to be in the tree trimming business a competitor/friend of my dad's was complaining about people driving over his cones so he nailed some 2x4's and 4x4's inside them.

Some had tons of nails in them so if they got ran over, the people would always get a flat tire or two. If they ran over the bigger cones, those had the 4x4's nailed together and it would bang up their oil and transmission oil pans and one time ripped a hole through a pan when the 4x4 hit a manhole cover in the street and got wedged when the person drove over it.

This kind of thing is not a good thing to do but he always had a couple guns and shotguns in his truck in case there was trouble. This was back before cell phones so he could not call 911 when something happened, he just showed them his gun and they went away.

my hoses get ran over every day. I don't mind exept when somebudy peels out on them. Had a car salesmen do that to me once. Reely pissed me off I am washing 400+ cars for the lot that day so they can sell them. And this guy peels out on my $300 hose and rips the lance out of my hand. I should have one steped his car. "acid only" LOL

I like Chris Chapppel Idea take 2x4 put few 10 penny nails in them put it on both sides of your hose then put two orange cones with yellow tape going between the cones by doing that you marked your safety area. If driver does not see it gets flat tire will not be your problem you had the area clearly marked.

It's not the running over the hose that gets me, it's running over the connections on the hose that pisses me off. An Oval Shape connector does not work to well. people now days are in their own self centered world and in a hurry to boot.

I feel the same way, if they drive over the connectors then you will not get them apart easily if at all but the garden hoses you can just cut the end off and put a new one there but it sucks because it is your property, your time and cost you money to buy the hose and now more money to repair it because of their being an A**hole by driving over your hose.

Maybe time to put out spike strips with the cones so people take the cones seriously? I wonder if we could do that legally so we would not get into trouble with the police? Hmmmmmmm Sounds like a good idea to me.

I wonder how much those spike strips cost?

After all, you are barricading the work area, you are trying to make the worksite safe for you and your employees so you don't get run over.

It has always amazed me that I can have a feed hose out that is 300 feet long, and there will be two connectors in it, and some nitwit will manage to avoid all the hose and run over the connectors every time. How do they do that?

I used to be afraid of people running over my hoses but now i just gave up on it. most people in my area go slow when they see hoses out. as for garden hoses i use sears hoses they have a lifetime warranty so when they get worn down or the ends get run over i just take them in and get all new ones.

I get tired of stepping on my hose
