Mike,

I had a similar experience with Dwayne.

He was non responsive to my phone calls regarding time sensitive issues.

He did shabby work which I had to continuously ask him to correct.

And most importantly: he locked me out of access to MY site so that I could not do the revisions myself.

Again--to anyone who is thinking about doing business with this guy.

I hired Dwayne a few months ago to do some work on a couple of my web sites, theme changes, SEO, and some other things. During that time I was absolutely blown away by the quick response time of any communication we had.

One of the problems I have had over the years is every time I would hire someone to manage my sites, things would start off great, then slowly the response time would go from same day, to 2 days, then 3 or 4 days, then a week, and after a couple months they would simply, overnight, disappear and would not respond to phone calls, texts, emails, etc. It was extremely frustrating, especially knowing they held the key to the front door of my business. Fortunately for me the last one that did this resurfaced, and I was able to get everything I needed, and found the right person to manage my sites for me from an administrative end. (this person is different than dwayne)

From day one even up until today, (with the exception of a three day period that he had a Family Emergency) there has NEVER been a time when I have not been able to reach Dwayne. His reponses to my emails have always been the same day or next day at the very latest. In fact I just hung up the phone with him, discussing some things we are looking at doing with my school site, which is the last one I have to turn him loose on.

In our phone conversation, we discussed some things that are going on in his life and I am satisfied with his explanation. I also explained to Dwayne, that the Pressure Washing Community is a tight group. We all look out for each other. Often times when something affects one of us, it affects us all. When the need arises we are a "Wand of Brothers"..lol
and will help our brothers out in any time of need. In fact, this morning I checked with a few of the people that I have referred Dwayne to, and all checked back saying they have not had a problem.

I would also like to say that I had the honor of meeting Mike Rego in Milwaukee after following him for awhile here and on the various forums. I have always respected Mike and still do, and will always value (highly) his opinion. I do not doubt for a minute anything that Mike has posted here and am in no way trying to contradict anything he has to say about Dwayne. What happened to Mike did happen. I know because I am the UAMCC Board member that helped Mike get back in touch with Dwayne.

After praying about this over the weekend, and considering terminating my relationship with Dwayne, and after speaking with Dwayne, I have come to the conclusion that I will continue. But as I told Dwayne, I am proceeding cautiously. I would advise anyone to do the same with anyone you hire to "manage' any part of your business.
 
About 4 months ago I contacted Ty about redoing my website I sent him a PM and I left him a voice mail and 2 or 3 days later he contacted me and said that he would look at it and 3 or 4 days later he called me and said that he couldn't help me because he was already helping someone else in the Charlotte area and he said it would be unethical to help me and them I said ok. So I ask around and got Dwayne name I called him and he took a look at my website and told me what he would do and I have never had an issue with him not getting back with me on anything and I am pleased with what he has done.
He walked me through the process because I don't know that much about computers but I trust Dwayne will do what is right for me.

Sorry about that Aaron. Here is the deal with my services. I can only work with one contractor in one service area at a time, if they are paying me for SEO services. I was already working with Jason from Zap It Wash for the Power Washing Charlotte search phrases. In my agreement if a contractor is paying me monthly for services he is also paying for exclusivity. It was a tough decision to make and you were the first client who had approached me in the same city. But to me it just felt unethical to take money from 2 contractors trying to achieve the same goal. I hope there is no hard feelings.

It's hard to find a web guy or a graphics guy who is spot on. I don't think it's they don't want to , it's because they are the business. I mean truthfully if you look at Keith's business. Keith takes a day off, nothing gets done. You or I take a day off the washing is being taken care of. I'm sure this apply a when a start of another project comes through the door. If we are not worth the time an a whale walks in they drop our stuff an take care of the large money job.

He wholeheartedly recommended me to osciee. I think he even proactively called Dwayne to tell him I was looking :).
Dwayne called me very quickly and I let him know I was 'shopping'. He even called back to follow up. That's all the experience I've had.

I would like to say, for whatever reason, I ended up having a different company completely redo my site and I am very happy. I have absolutely no complaints and have already had compliments from customers regarding it. It went live two days ago. www.danwagnerwindowcleaning.com
