My Child Gets attacked By PITBULL!!!!!!!!

That sucks I would have beat that dogs a$$. And I will add a disclaimer I love dogs! Cats not so much.

I'm afraid I would have beat the owner and shot the dog if it was my kid who got bit like that. Not the right response, but it would have been my first impulse.

Wow.
I love dogs too but will never own a Pit.

Ron, what happened to the dog? Was it up to date on its rabies vac?

Here where we are, attacks have to be reported to the police department. The dog is then taken and quarantined.

Well wishes to your daughter Ron. I hope she feels better soon.

That sucks Ron hope she feels better. Thats a deep cut, +10 Guy
Wheres the "PIT BOSS"?

It was two Pits and since she couldnt tell them which one they are both being kept for a time period.

I will know more today how she feels, slept tues all day after spending the night in ER.

I wish the dogs no harm, the owners should have not had them in the front entrance of the home. Apparently one of the kids had the front gate access the front yard open and they did not know.

Accidents happen!!

I just hope her had has no infection or future problems.

For the life of me I don't get why anyone would want a pit. That's not an accident in my opinion. No different than leaving a loaded handgun on a table in a room full of unsupervised young children.

My neighbor's Chow mix bit another neighbors finger off at the first knuckle. Completely unprovoked. There were no lawyers law suits nothing. The owner shot the dog dead immediately. Who will explain to the next kids parents why this wasn't addressed the first time?

I'm a dog person but have no use for these pits.

Ron,

Sorry to hear about that. I think the best thing is that it was only as bad as it was!!!

I have two labs and LOVE dogs. But as far as that one, I would KILL IT!!! I have been attacked by a pit bull and punched the sucker knocking it 5ft. at a time. These DOGS DO NOT STOP coming at you!!! AND THEY TURN IN A SEC! In the position I was in, if it were a little girl instead of a strong man, there is no doubt in my mind she would be dead.

I didn't kill this one because it caught me offguard... But I will not hesitate down the road to do so.

If I get a dog it will be a Great Dane like the cartoon Marmaduke. This way it can take my wife for a walk.

Hope your daughter is feeling better Ron.

It would be dead. Sorry about your daughter.

Awful Ron, just awful. Your poor daughter. I hope she recovers 100%.

Knowing this firsthand myself from being attacked as a child, I can tell you that the pictures in my mind of the attack have never left me. And I'm an old guy now.

My best wishes to her. Admiration to you as well for not biting the dog back, or the owners. You must have some kind of cool on you Ron.

I had Pitbulls when I was younger and I breed them a few times as well. I never had an issue with any of them, my kids grew up around them. My family up in NY and most of my friends have them as well and no issues? So it sucks that this breed always gets this wrap but I remember when it was the Doberman then the Rotty then the shephard.

I am real sorry Ron's daughter was hurt but it all goes back to the dog's owner. These dogs are litterly like lap dogs and will only be aggressive if taught to be, just like any other breed. No doubt in my mind I would have shot that dog as well but I dont blame the dog I always blame the owner for not being responsible.

God's good. Could have been her face.

Ron first off, I sincerely hope your daughter is o.k. Now for the "pitbull" b.s. I have American bull terriors or "pitbulls". rescued one from a shelter 12 years ago and she will bite without warning any grey haired man....We were told she was beaten by an older guy, but absolutely no one else and there have been plenty of chances around kids, women, men you name it. We tell every one we know may come around " no grey haired men" and there are no problems

When my daughters were 3 and 4 we heard them laughing at 2 a.m. We got up and follow the voices to the laundry room where hey had gotten out of bed and moved the baby gate where the dog was in labor. the dog was having pups. one of the girls was sitting on the dogs side, the other was holding the newborns. nothing, no reaction from the dog at all.

I have a newer one too and they are both really sweet dogs. I have however had several mixed breeds that have been put down for biting over my lifetime.

Bottom line, raise any dog right and it's a good dog. Like Ron said dogs are territorial, ALL of them.

But for what it's worth, I would have the dog put down too if it was an actual bite, instead of an excited, untrained dog grabbing a cookie.

Ron I hope your Kid is OK. That is a terrible bite and no kid should have to endure something like that from a PitBull or any dog. I have dealt with Pit Bulls in the past and yes they can be extremely aggressive dogs especially if they have an owner that neglects them. Still I would never ever want my girls around anyones Pitbull because I personally do not trust those dogs. I love dogs and right now I have brother and sister chocolate twin labs. Labs have always been known to be "Great" people dogs but Pit bulls....one bite and it could be lights out. Your daughter probably got lucky to only get Bit in the hand and not anwyhere else on her body from a dog like that.

That Dog I to would have put down. Today your daugther, next time it could be alot worse for someone else........
