Motor for a pump.

I had a pump given to me. An inter pump WS202 I believe that was the model number. It came with an electric 7.5hp motor but I am wanting to put a gas motor on it. What HP motor should I get for it?
 
Thanks Red. I was thinking of an 18hp but wasn't sure if it was overkill or not.
 
A WS202 is Interpump's number for the General TS2021, rated for 5.5 gpm and 3,500 psi. The 18 would be great for that.
 
I have a pulley for the pump so I will have to get a pulley whenever I gt a motor. Not sure if I want to spend the extra for a drive, maybe later. I won't be able to afford one after paying for an 18hp motor.
 
Russ, I found a 15 HP pretty cheap, besides lowering the PSI would it hurt to use this motor? Will the GPM be affected that much? The main thing I wanted this pump for was the GPM and if I figured it right I would still be getting about 3000 PSI, which both PSI and GPM is higher than what I have now.
 
You need to choose PSI or GPM. One or the other is going to suffer. 15 horse will push the water at about 5 gpm at 3000 PSI. If it is a cold water machine, that is a decent pressure. If it is hot water, I would want a little extra because of ability to charge and run a generator or alternator.
 
OK on the belt drive. Scot that PSI and GPM is OK with me. 5 GPM @ 3000 PSI is more than I am working with now.
