Does anyone use the Mosmatic gun swivels? What kind of service life do you get from them?

I ordered one a few months back 4500 psi model, hooked it up and used it for 4 or 5 weeks and one day I started my machine and it split right at the fitting end.Called Mosmatic up and told them what happened. The lady on the phone said you overtightened it.I explained that i had been using the thing with no problems up until it blew out.Send it back to us so we can look at it.I send it back and sure enough 3 weeks later the supplier I bought it from calls me and tells me you overtightened it.

What a piece of crap.40$ for the swivel 14$ to send it back to em and the knew all along they weren't going to warranty the friggin piece of chit.

Is this normal or did I get a bad one?

I use these: http://www.pressuretek.com/brhosw35psi2.html

The first one I bought I got about 1.5 years out of but that is due to lack of work.

I keep 2 spares on hand in case one goes out.

I still get about a year out of them and that is with downstreaming all kinds of chemicals, very hot and cold water and dragging a 200' hose with extensions as needed.

That brass swivel is great, sure makes life much easier, glad I started using them.

I just purchased a 1/4 inch super swivel to use between the gun and wand. I like the ability to rotate the wand without having to move my arm in crazy concotions just to rinse out a trench or something like that

Cajun .... I think you overtightened it  , they look like steel but they're brass. But anyways that swivel Chris had up works like magic - its cheaper, rebuildable and shorter which helps with hose-bend. It does only say 160 deg but I ran mine over that for years. I had that mosmatic gun swivel and it didn't last any longer than the other one, I have a mosmatic on my surface cleaner that has ran for years.

I been useing that gun swivel for months now with no problems.so far my hose would fail before the swivel would. :D
