Micro-Rigs roof cleaning

Tornado

Here's what left of a Red Oak that was in my front yard. We had a tornado come through the area on Sunday. I thought that every darn tree in the area was coming down!

BBQ & fireplace wood...

As for today, I'm 100 miles from Galveston -- so we've had some wind and a lot of rain.

When is the BBQ I bring Beer and bush beans.

Northwest Indiana got hammered by some pretty nasty storms last night. I hope Barry's alright...what was his screen name?

We had a few strong showers come in with maybe 35-40 mph wind gusts, but thats it. No power lost or anything, and we're only 25 miles from Galveston. Today should have been an awesome day for taking the jeep to get muddy, but all the places we used to go, are now illegal. If we find a place, Ill post some pictures of how we celebrate hurricanes. lol

Reworked rig

OK so I added a tank and all kinds of toys. I also welded on 3 more feet yesterday and added a bigger axle! The rig is on ramps getting ready for a whole new light set, I burned up my wires welding...oops. The rig is now 4x11. I will upgrade tires next week, and need advise with signs for my tank! I'll post that part in graphics. I'll take any feed back! Oh and I flyer all the neighbors every week about there roofs.... I know there will be comments on all the dirty roofs in the pics!

The hose is for my soft wash system.. I use it to wash and rinse roofs. The compressor runs the pump great at 50psi. thats all I need. I power it with an out door outlet for now. My next buy after my sign s is a gas powered compressor.

Every single roof in your neighborhood is dirty!
\/\/0\/\/.

looks like an electric one, no generator ? what is the cfm rating ? looks like about a 5

Just curious, if that is a Yamada pump I was under the impression you needed anywhere from 9 to 13 cfm to run it properly.
Yamada WILL run at lower CFM, but gets even BETTER as CFM is increased :)
I own a BIG 17.8 Rolaire compressor.
It needs repaired, but when it is connected, the pump sprays SO much it is truly scary
It is just like an Impact Wrench Russ :)
The more air capacity, the better it works, to a point.
Our everyday compressors are about 11 CFM.

But 17.8 even better, and yes, they even work at lower CFM's.

Just not as good, but still better then a 12 volt Delavan !

Oh, remember Jeffrey is USING Big Hose, making life EASY on the pump.

The LESS restriction in the hose, the LESS pressure is required to spray, and the less CFM.

Jeffreys pump, with that small compressor, would not work near as well with smaller hose.

I was asking because you said it was a waste of time to use a compressor like that when we talked, you said the only real way was with the gas model that produced a minimum of 9 to 11 cfm at around 100 to 125 psi
YES, and until Jeffrey actually tried it, I was uncomfortable making a Guinea Pig out of a friend :)
Yamada suggests the CFM I use, and suggested to you.
They cautioned me about insufficient air, suggested I go to a smaller pump instead.
I think Jefferey will be surprised at how good it sprays when he gets the right amount of CFM.

Yamada does make smaller 1/4 inch pumps that take FAR less air.
They are "only" rated at 3 to 4 GPM, but ratings can be deceiving.
Give me a 3 to 4 GPM Yamada over a Delavan any day.

I JUST saw a TEFLON 1/4 inch Yamada on EBay a couple weeks ago for 149 dollars !

IF you don't have Room Russ, perhaps a smaller Yamada with a smaller compressor is the way to go ?

They are SUPER Reliable

Chris I dont even run a roof cleaning setup at the moment , I have put it on hold, our commercial business is doing so well I dont have the time to even mess with it, I have Titan reels , 5/8 hoses, ploy guns, 225 gallon, ect..... leg tanks all in the garage along with my dewalt air compressor I bought to clean roofs with, all I am lacking is the pump , I figure I will get it all set up sometime in October , we are going to run it out of a 1 ton extended van. I will take some pics when we get her done , oh and we are going to do a wrap on the van as well , tint windows ect !

Russ I was running my roof cleaning set up out of a van... It was hell on fumes! I was pulling PH readings on the dash! I'd go enclosed trailer before another van! Another good reason my chemical supplier will not load more than 15 gallons of Sh into an enclosed van exposed to driver. Thats why I went with trailer, when Sunbrite closed down! Just my 2 cents!
