I tried DR-60 several times this past summer and I was underwhelmed, to say the least. I had called Dominion Restoration and asked many questions before making the 4 hour round trip to buy it. I was assured that the photos of the McDonalds drive-thru had not been re-touched. I also asked many questions regarding DR-60's application.

At the time, I was not using hot water and needed to know how it would work using 3500 psi cold. I was told hot water was not needed when the air temp is about 80. I bought 5 gals @ $100 and went-a-cleaning. I followed the directions completely - and got no more oil off than my regular degreaser. I will say that the areas that didn't still have oil were VERY clean and bright - much brigher than just using degreaser.

I could not leave it that way, and since it must be put on when the surface is dry, I had to come back to redo...what a pain in the ---! I called and spoke to the Pres of Dominion to find out what went wrong and was told that I did everything right and it should have worked. I drove the 4 hours again for another 5 gals for the next drive thru - scraped the thick stuff better this time - with the same results.

So...I liked what it did to the lightly-oiled surfaces, but at almost a gallon per lane ($20 per) it does not appear to be cost effective. I suppose it might work better with hot water, but...

Sorry about being so long-winded...can you tell I have some unresolved issues with this product?

I have used this DR-60 from Dominion Restoration in Richmond VA. and it does a good job. On old concrete it will bring it back to almost new apperance. On oil you might have to apply it a couple of times, but it takes the oil out. If I can do it, I will post a picture of a test I did on my own sidewalk

You are absolutely right Lenny...it really does work, and you really do need to do it more than once for the heavy oil!...but the cost per sq ft, and the time needed for re-do's make it too expensive no matter how well it works. At least for me.

Dominion Products

I use products from Dominion, for the past year, and have achieved from good to great success. I use both cold and hot water cleaning systems and hot water is the way to go when cleaning concrete surfaces. It not only cuts your cleaning time it also cuts the amount of cleaning product you use in half. Had I known this I would have changed to hot water three years ago. As for DR-60 my experience is it cleans as the advertisement would suggest, if it is fresh stains. It becomes too pricey if you have to reapply to almost remove old stains. As mentioned before it must be applied to a dry surface, trust me you might as well dump the product down the drain if the surface is wet. Don't try to use it as a spot cleaner, to possibly to save money or to give a lower quote, you will clean the spot but once dry you will end up with a nice bright, almost white, spot in the middle of a contere slab. If you are fortunate to land a contract where you clean every 6 to 8 weeks DR-60 will make the surface look new after a few visits. Then once you get the surface clean you might be able to sell sealing the surface thus reducing the amount of product you use.
