Wonder how it would go over if somebody called in because you broke the law by not keeping your lawn mowed and they hauled you out in cuffs while they searched your home?
What makes people think that is OK when your in your car?
A whole nation that has no inkling of the freedom good men died fighting for.

Only in the land of the free and the brave. Don't ya just love it. Are the cop's that hell bent on writing up traffic violations that it requires the cops to shoot at a vehicle full of kids. Come on people!!!!! The Cop could have tried a please and a thank you instead of his aggressive attitude. Can't blame the lady for wanting to get away from the prick or the kid defending his Mom.
I have to play devils advocate here. First, the cops that didn't shoot were not in the wrong. The cop that did shoot had no idea of the situation. However, running doesn't make it okay to shoot. The other cops should've tried to stop, but they looked startled. The woman is a moron, her son is a moron and it's her fault. Stupid all around for sure.

I too am going to play Devil's Advocate and suggest that the woman was scared Sh$tless with a bunch of hairy ass cops all charging down on her with Tazers out and guns at the ready smashing windows in her car shouting at her after she had been man handled. Moron Me thinks not. scared mother looking out for her kids more like it. Agreed she should not have driven off in the first instance but the cop was also rude and abusive without cause. Do you think he would have had the same attitude toward a white woman with a car load of kid. I would suggest not. He was white and the man and he was going to exert his authority over that coloured woman. just cop with his head up his ass. My 2 cents worth.

She Gets pulled over the Second time and cops Heated cause he Thinks she ran off.
She didn't Listen but who knew what was going through her Head. Maybe she's has Mental Health Issues?
I do not think either Party acted right , she will get a charge of some Sort. The 14 year old boy hopefully Based on his Clean Past gets a Pass so this doesn't Damage his Future.
The COPS should be sent back to academy and retrained.
Shooting at Un armed People especially Children is Silly. Shooting when you do not know whats going on is even Worse.
This Entire thing was over improper training on all those officers ALL OF THEM!!!
WHY because we just won't stand up when someone is wrong anymore. This mentality of Sticking together when your wrong needs to stop, the Officer standing around should step up and say it was silly we had to chase a Mother with Five Kids. Shoot out and knock out windows.
We Wont some Attorney will stand and say nothing was wrong, they followed training.

The cop who fired his weapon at a fleeing vehicle full of kids is totally uncalled for and should be charged..
The smashing of the windows with little kids inside is troubling as well..
There is some responsibility on the driver to comply when being pulled over.so im guessing there will be charges there as well

Over what?
A speeding ticket that requires so little police involvement that many States just snap a picture and send the ticket in the mail.
This wasn't about speeding, this was about not "complying".
As usual.
And Ron, this isn't about training. Tigers that are trained kill their owners all the time. The fact is you can't train the killing instinct our of a tiger. The answer to that problem is to STOP TRAINING TIGERS.
THE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM is to stop training sociopaths and putting them on the streets with a gun and a badge
Every one of them should be put through a series of tests where they are mocked, spit at, hit, and embarrassed and any signs of aggression should be grounds for disqualification.
Where they do need to be trained is in the area of constitutional rights. Unfortunately there is no one left in the country who knows them anymore.
I applaud that 14 year old boy. As a matter of fact I am going to try to look up how I can donate to their defense. If more family members would stand up to this ridiculous manhandling that goes on you would bet these hyped up steroid addicts would start thinking twice.
But we live in a society filled with cowards who won't stand up for anything unless their food stamps and unemployment are cut off.
When this virtually identical thing happened in late 1760's a whole town showed up in defense. A woman was told to stop her wagon. She refused and went around them. They fired a shot in her direction. She proceeded to town where practically the whole town went with weapons to the headquarters demanding the man be turned over to them. The man who fired the shot was imprisoned immediately and their practice of stopping people ended in that area.
That is why protection against such things were written in the constitution.
In the past people had common sense. If a person was really endangering others they were fair game for detention. But a person travelling on a road minding their own business were off limits.
And a persons wagon was just as protected as their home against search and seizure.

Race could be an issue no doubt. I still think the entire situation was handled wrong on all sides. If she was white and acted the same, I think the reault would be the same. Just for the record, I'm not a fan of cops by any means. I've got stories, however non of them involve being shot at.

I always find it interesting when people from New Zealand attack the actions of cops from the U.S. The total population of New Zealand is less then the population of my Metropolitan area. So, you are comparing the actions of the total police force of a country that is nearly 100 times the population of your country. Incidentally, did you know that New Zealand has had more mass shootings than the metro area where I live? What a lawless bunch you guys are. I am certain you have had rogue cops that have not followed your countries laws.
Sorry, but it have been on other boards where someone from New Zealand have made snide remarks about the relative freedom of the U.S. I do nit mean to sound racist, but with the vast array of different cultures that are in the U.S. And the number of politicians that have enabled them in thinking that they have been poorly treated and abused, it sometimes amazes me that we don't have more civil unrest.
