Making a house wash mix

Liquid good....Powder Bad....

The Blue Voodoo works pretty good, and the powder mixes really well. I have had issues with my DS injector recently, but ever since I finally got a 2.3 fixed injector, I have had a few days to work with the Blue Voodoo. So far so good. Mixes well, and I don't have to worry about windows as much as I do with Roof Snot.

Picking a soap solution is directly related to where you live and the type of siding to be cleaned. If your just removing mildew you just need some surfactorant for suspending the bleach to kill the mold. Many of the powders being sold are pretty close in ingrediences for house washes. It's when you get to chalking and more difficult cleanings you need to now what to add for a boost to get the job done.

For my first 10 years I used a car wash soap that was great called (true). Came in a liquid form and I could pick it up locally but the place shut down. Using just a surfactorant where I live doesn't work so well so you need to carry other chem's to add to house wash to get a boost.

Any recommendations for cleaning stucco? Up until now I've done mostly vinyl houses, which is pretty easy. But lately I have gotten a lot of stucco houses with. Brown/green mold/mildew ingrained deep into the surface. Nothing short of a direct spray with a roof cleaning mix seems to do the job.

I did a quote yesterday for a lady. She had rust draining out of one of the columns in the front. This is a fairly new stucco house, but the stucco was cracking and paint on the ceiling (of the porch) was peeling away. It appeared to me to be shoddy build job.

If that stucco is cracking, exposing the unknown source of the rust, wouldn't cleaning it just add to the problem?

What issues are you having with the Snot on glass?

I've noticed that if you don't pre wet the windows and rinse them almost immediately,Roof Snot tends to dry quick, and leave some pretty terrible looking streaks on the windows. Even on a small house, if I soak 2 sides of the house at a time, by the time I remove the downstream siphon from the bucket and clear my line, the windows are already starting to dry and streak. Especially on a sunny Florida day. Roof Snot is a great product, and I would not accept any substitutes for a steep roof with no gutters. But other products have seemed much more forgiving when it comes to Windows.

Our Rust Stain Remover works well on stucco.

With stucco you have jack up your solution ( house wash and soap) that's for the mold. For staining and other issues acidic cleaners. Best to do test spots and have chem's in the truck.

Roof cleaning solution that crap up the windows is from the bleach not the surfactorant . The stronger it is the easier it will etch the glass. Agitate with a brush and some solution quickly and rinse or keep a bucket of water 2 gallons and half cup of one restore ready and bush that on and rinse . etch be gone !

Really? I never would have thought of that. So you're talking about using rust remover to spot clean mold spots on stucco? You're not talking about down streaming it over the whole house, are you? I don't know how much your rust remover costs, but if it's anything like F9 BARC, I don't think there's a customer in all of Florida that would pay me what I would have to charge to downstream a whole house with that stuff. Lol

No, I am talking about spot cleaning for the rust stain. Give me a call tomorrow and I think you will find the price is reasonable. Quite a bit less than the cost of the F9. I found on most stucco the Citracleen mixed in my housewash formula works well. If you need something stronger just swap out the Citracleen for the Gutter Shock. I have several things in that formula for specific reasons. I like the X-Jet, I never felt that I could get the proper concentration of chemicals with a downstream injector like I could get with the X-Jet and premixing them. The key to cleaning is having the proper amount of chemicals on the surface and the pressure with the X-jet gives enough pressure to do the job.

Steven, I will try and give you a call as soon as I have it in the budget to restock on chemicals. Thanks for the help.

Aluminum Siding mix

I have my first aluminum siding job next week on an older farm house that has never been painted. The siding is dirty and has some mold on it. Can someone please give me some info on a good downstream mix or a softwash mix? I have a 6 gpm hot cold pressure washer and also a 60 psi softwash setup.
Thanks, Darrell

I have just ordered my first gallon of simple cherry. I will be cleaning a Zaxbys' with stucco on the side and black streaks coming down from the roof. I'll be mixing in a 5 gallon bucket. What ration of Simple Cherry/Sh/Water would you guys recommend? Usually I do just concrete, but I've started trying to get into soft washing and I'm still unsure of the chemicals and ratios to use. Thanks for you info!!!
