Magazine add critique

William, this is trade for services. My costs are very low on this.

Ant, this is a good opportunity for me to experiment. I'm going to put one of these two in this month and next month I'll try something else. I've got a year for trial and error.

This magazine is read by building owners, commercial real estate professionals, property managers and other consumers of business services. Most of the ads in the mag are architects, builders, RE attorneys, and banks. One bite could have a huge payoff if I can get them to use our maintenance service.

These guys look at the magazine quickly to see if any of their pictures are in the social section and to check up on their competition. The ad has to be VERY short and to the point or they won't look at it. The magazine has done studies in effectiveness and more words=less sales.

Maybe I should start working on next month's right now.

With properties trading hands so often I'm not sure how many managers care if the a/c units last longer. I think owners or managers would be more interested in the short term benefits. Cost savings of energy etc. I also think an up close photo of a really dirty filter would get more looks. Like the guys that sell duct cleaning with the picture of a dust mite and the fine print that says "not actual size". I love that ad.

Maybe a "Who's Really Robbing You?" with a photo of a masked guy with a gun? Then a real savings in dollars per year, such as: "Save an average of $2,300 per 5,000 s/f annually". Just a thought.
