Watching TV the other day ABC has been promoting "made in America" and I am all for this to keep American jobs here in America, because I don't want my kids speaking Chinese, so I guess my question to you is where do we buy our products that are made in the good ole USA.

Any where other than Wally world or other big box stores that can only offer the prices they do through out of the country suppliers.

If we the American people don't start buying locally and stop running to the walmarts and targets of the world eventually the little guys(You and me included) are gonna be gone.

The pennies you save trickle down to the fact that local farmers and businesses can't compete any more.

You run to wally world to buy a can of beans well you get the store brand because they are 2 cents less.Stop and go back through the supply chain and do the math. They are pressureing everyone from the farmer to the distributor to save that 2 cents. The farmer has to pressure everyone in his supply chain and so on and so on until no one is really making any money just surviving or worse going bankrupt slowly.

This is a sad subject, I own trucks from Mexico. Cars from japan and tv s from south Korea and produce and grocerys are from central america. I bought local the other day at the farmers market. Even the farmer had strawberries from central america.

I'm sick that we will actually can't buy anything made here anymore unless we make it or grow it at home.

Can anyone define American in this time and age?

Assembled in america by Americans from products sourced from different countries?

Good luck getting anything at Walmart from the US.

It's not just products! We all know customer service call centers are anywhere but the US, but now when you take professional exams like the CPA exam it has a massive international focus to it! The idea is to make accounting records standardized across the world. This time next year, when you call your CPA for taxes, you'll get; "Hello, this is Taj Patel, how can I help you?"
I think your best bet is to besure you do something that can't be outsourced! But, do it well! Lawyers will be competing with you to mow lawns very soon!

Buy local. Find someone local that has or produces what you need and buy from them. I will not even buy fish from Wally world..... Especially when it says product of China! I will buy local or catch my own. If fish is going to kill me, at least let it be with mercury from the US. LOL

You can't even find a really good butcher any more. All the meat is cut and wrapped before it gets to the stores. The Thriftway and Safeway here are pretty decent on the meats though. I bought some pork sausage that was supposed to be spicy from a local butcher, I could have fed it to a new born it was that bland.

The problem now is that many items are only made overseas so you have no choice.

But on some you do..... Quit buying Levis and Wranglers and try some of these brands.....http://www.usstuff.com/jeans.htm

Made from cotton grown right here in the good ole US of A

This is only a start of what you can find. Use Ace Hardware instead of HD or Lowes etc. Not perfect but they are a local owner not corporate owned more than likely.

This is not a prpblem caused by consumers trying to save 2 cents. The government has killled our industry. In two years every car will be required to have a rear view camera. Why? Because some camwra manufacturer made some political contributions and the politicians sounded the alarm to the soccer mom pac.
Common sense and a complete removal of the federal government from matters like these is the only way to save our economy. Anything less is like trying to put a band aid on an artery.

I have a 'special closet' in my house where I grow my own. To heck with the imports!!!

:lol: You didn't come up with your business name after a visit to your "special closet" did you?:haha:
