Lowballers popping up

Hey goldstone! Welcome to PWI. Do you do roof cleaning, or did you used to do roof cleaning? I seem to remember coming across a customer who called us for his tile roof, and said he used you guys a few (3-4) years ago, but said that you didnt do them anymore or something like that.

Anyways, great looking website!

I found this listing today. It isnt the only one I've found in the past week, but this is the worst. $50!!!

These guy's are always gonna come and go, this is in every trade. Nothing you can do about it, we have been crying down here in FL about this for years, but they dont last long at those prices.

To do a simple tile or shingle roof @ 2500 sq ft it cost's me $125.00 for helper $80.00 chemical, $20.00 for gas in truck and machine and thats being real fair.

So how much do i have to charge to do a roof? I know i can eliminate the helper but these are my guys that have to put food on their table to.

They do my commercial night work with me also, and most of the time we do a few residentials in a day.So if it cost me $225.00 out of pocket and these Idiots are charging that or less i would have to do the roof for free to compete?

I didnt even put insurance and advertising etc, etc in to the mix..I hope this economy will result in the last guy's standing wins!! I can wait!!:D

Just found out yesterday i lost a big hotel job to a freakin lowballer. but i called on the follow up and he said they were not doing it after all. talked to the guys he was paying them $100.(9am-9pm) . a day do clean his hotel.they had even rented the lil PW + scaffolds. they are only cleaning the bottom story. Im gonna pull a "Ron" and go the day after they clean his hotel and concrete sidewalks to show him "you get what you pay for" gonna show him the diff. betwen a guy off the street and a pro. not that im a pro but i can do a better job than them for sure.

We no longer do roofs. We are mainly Commercial buildings and garages. We also do parking lot maintenance and striping.

Ok good to know. We get called for large projects every once in a while. Malls, apartments, etc...and we need someone reliable to pass them too. We've sent them to another guy in the past, but we havent been too happy with him.

This economy worries me for the lowballers that there will be more of them. A lot of people are losing their jobs and I am sure some of them are thinking they can make an extra buck by washing a couple houses here or there. They charge what they think their services are worth not realizing they are lowballing the professionals. They figure easy money not realizing what goes into being a professional pressure washer. I thought it would be easier when I started ... Boy was I wrong. Thanks to this site and the information on it I will be one of the ones left standing.

I can see with a bad economy more low ballers popping up.

hey Chris the stencil sounds like a good idea. let me know how it works for you.

I have heard a lot of bad things about lowballers in Houston, sure hope they don't learn how to do a good job, then they will do good work at lowballing prices and hurt the industry even more.

Some people out there will never learn that you have to charge more for your services so you can stay in business over the years, a lot of guys just want extra money on the side and don't care about the industry or about anyone.

I actually dont mind anymore. Our lead generation has shifted from being chased to chasing and selling.
