lost a grand

fire system went off 2 days ago at a restaurant that i cleaned and service 6 months ago

the manager says that I did not change the links which is bull because I did.
But either way He couldn't get in touch with me when it went off, so he called my competitor.. My competitor gave him a handful of old links and one that was cut or burned thru..

He says there was no fire the link just broke.. I know I changed the links out but I have No proof other than the inspection report..

Anyway my compaetitor sold him a new system for 1900.00 and the owner wants me to pay 1000.00 of it...

My insurance company says just pay the idiot and leave him alone And to send him a letter showing that I did change the links and not addmitting any guilt..

The fire marshall in rankin county is related to my competitor that did the service work on this system.. I was told by my competitor and his uncle the fire marshall of rankin county to stay out of there town..

My competitor has done this too me twice.. when I take his accounts he shows up six months later hands the customer a handful of old links out of his truck or something and tells the customer that I am not changing out the links .. I have sent a letter to the state fire marshalls office about this but they have not answered me yet...

I think since I make 80 % of my money in cleanings alone.. I will just stay out of there stupid ass hick town and tell everyone in that town that they have to call my competitor.. Even though he has no license to service fire suppression systems.
I have got to shut this sorry excuse for a fire equipment company down..Or someone does...

I inspected one of his system about 4 month ago at a country club and notice that he had left the fusible link hanging on the cable , not even attached at both ends.. ...

Well I feel better ( Vent Vent Vent )

So I guess I will go pay the idiot and find a way to take $1000 out of my competitors Ass....

There are some people in this world that just need a good ass kicking..

Sorry to hear that john,Maybe get eveything in writing and have someone eyeball you changing the links out from now on and get there signature on somethign stateing so.
 
Ok, so while were complaining.
I hate when your almost done with the job and they ask you to hit this quik or how about that quik. What is usaully quick to them is a 2 hour job to me.
I dont mind little things here and there thats just good customer service.

Like ya said- I'll order the special and just order desert to and expect desert to be free. LOL
 
Wire tie the old links to the manual pull pipe right next to your service tag.
 
We did all of this.. He knows he is wrong for accusing me.. I went to the restaurant last night and looked at the fire system.. I noticed the burn marks on the vent hood.. They did have a fire..Any way what I thought was stupid , my competitor installed a new fire system and did not bother to hook a micro switch up to kill the electric appliance under the hood.. and they even used the old pipe and conduit..... and even the old gas valve.. Anyway I payed the guy and told him to find someone else to service his equipment because over the passed 2 years he has cost me more than I have made off of his 2 restaurants....
 
I know it a little too late now, but is it possible to take pics of your completed work after you are done? Just a thought.
